fiorelli Report post Posted December 4, 2005 I have (finally!) recieved an appointment for Louis to be assessed by the CAMHS team. Bit of background... Louis was referred to them by his Paed, and G.P., but was refused an assessment because they were not assessing any new people presenting with ADHD. The Behaviour Intervention Team wrote to them just before/during Louis's permanent exclusion because, I believe, the School and EOTAS unit had witnessed him referring to himself as a third person - especially noticeable when he had done something wrong. (e.g. the incident that led to Louis's exclusion, he was asked did he hit the girls head against the window. He apparently said 'It wasn't me, it was the other Louis'.) It is because of this letter that we now have an assessment with them, but I am not sure what is going to happen when we get there. Does anyone know? Should I take anything with me (i.e. reports I have regarding his AS and ADHD?)
smiley Report post Posted December 4, 2005 Hi hun, The CAMBS team came into school last year. The two women that came to our meeting we're lovely. Took stacks of notes, etc (so take yours along with you). I found them really helpfull - not just for M, but for me aswell (gave me loads of advice). I haven't seen them since though, but they were the ones who pushed for a dx etc, and did most of the 'shoving' to get him help at school. Hope that helps
fiorelli Report post Posted December 5, 2005 Thanks Smiley. We already have a DX. so not sure what help they can give us other than put him on a trial of meds.
