  3. Hello all, I am a new mum to the site, with 3 boys, the youngest of whom has asperghers. He is 6 in may and has attended a mainstream primary in sittingbourne kent for the past 2 yrs.Only recently he has started attending full time...before this he was just on half days....now the problem is this.....all the time he has been there, i have been given the opinion that mainstream is not for him and that we should look into special or private schooling....yet his teacher acknowledges he is doing fine ,although behind his more academic peers......but they often ask me if i have found another school for him...knowing full well that i have enquired all local suitable schools to no avail!! Now recently the school applied to get him staemented for the second ocaasion but again this was turned down due to my son not meeting the full criteria......I am starting to feel a bit like an outcast with mountains of humility when i take him to school all the time feeling that they dont want him there....hard to explain folks!! Now a little info on my son......a beautiful child...arent they all??? very bright and full of humour, coomon sense, does good eye contact very loving, talks like an eloquent old man.....the negs....he flaps his arms...used to bang his head, now presses his thumbs to his forehead when frustrated....talks loudly...has absolutely no concept of time...has some strange fears like not being left in the car..at all...even when we are paying for petrol.....can make silly noises in assembly....is only just learning to read, but my memory......and is a model, obedient child at home and on good days one of the best behaved at school...needs one to one though for guidance and prompting... oh yes...his fav passtime is drawing monsters, ben 10 shapes and as his dad and i are graphic designers we reckon he has real talent here which we hope will benefit him one day. Now....with a view to opening a school for aspy kids here in sittingbourne....what do you think....anyone know anyone who has looked into this......please let me know...would love to hear from anyone...would also like to know if any sittingbourne aspy mums on this site as i get quite lonely ,so does charlie as his bros are much older and he hasnt made any real friends..maria x
