  1. I'm 21 and was assessed when I was about 14. The outcome was very confusing ... I was told "if you were a boy then we would give you a diagnoses but because girls are more sociable than boys you don't fit all the criteria" and my mother was told that I had aspergers and to read all the books. 7 years on, I don't have a single friend apart from my boyfriend who is the most understanding guy I know for putting up with me, I rarely leave the house because of all the sensory difficulties and can't go to unfamiliar places on my own at all. I went back to my doctor about a month ago who has referred me to someone for assessment. Having a diagnosis will help me kind of close the doors on this because I feel that I was never told anything at 14 that allowed me to look at it as a closed door. My doctor said it sounds like anxiety disorder but I know it's not, I don't feel anxious with people or places, I just feel out of place and don't understand people. However, this same doctor told my mother my sister who is 10 has anxiety disorder when she was referred for adhd assessment and she has since been diagnosed with moderate to severe ADHD and odd and is now being assessed for asd. But he is the doctor to go to to get things done so I'm hoping I will hear something soon. Well done for going for a diagnosis by the way, I'm glad to hear that it's helped you
  2. I read that book about 6 weeks ago and I thought it was fantastic. I read it in just over a day as I couldn't stop reading it. Although it's a fictitious book it does give an insight into the world of autism and what many of the issues are for people with autism and their families. But not just that, it's a really good read and very enjoyable all the way through. Definitely worth reading I should probably add that there's not a lot of books I don't like lol so forgive me if you don't enjoy the book
  3. I like the following: Journey, marillion, Frankie valli, kiss, whitesnake, queen, air supply, coheed and cambria, chiodos, dragonforce, starship and the used ... Lots more too. I love pretty much all music from most genres my favourites from this list though are probably journey and chiodos.
  4. There aren't any in my area and Cardiff is not really far but not really easy for me either, I don't really cope well going out on my own apart from places close to my house. It's not often I feel lonely mind so I'm sure tomorrow I will be back to my normal self, being quite happy to be inside on my own I just seem to get more moments lately where I wish I had some company, you know?
  5. Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrggggghhhhh ....... Sometimes it would be nice to have a friend ...... Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrggggghhhh ...... Sometimes it would be nice to go out ......... Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrggggghhhhh ...... Sorry for the moan ... It's not very often I wish these things ... Usually very happy to be alone and inside ... Just one of those days I guess.
