  3. Hi I would just like to say what a differance Ians glasses have made to both my son and daughter, they have only had them a short time but we are already noticing things like much better eye contact, fewer tantrums etc. They both wear there blue glasses with no problems although my 12 year old daughter has to bite her tongue to stop her commenting on things on people faces which she has never seen before(spots, facial hair etc).If someone was to offer me loads of money for there glasses i wouldnt take it and Ian Jordan is not paying me for saying this. Thanks Ian Joyce
  4. Hi Folks I dont post very often but read every day.I will give you some back ground first before i ask my dreaded DLA question. My son I has not been diagnosed with an ASD but with a communication disorder, developmental delay, and also a speach and language delay.( I probably shouldn't be on this board at all).He is 4 1/2 year old. We have only just started getting DLA middle rate care in June this year (it was back dated from january). The award should run until 01/08. My problem is because he is now approaching 5 they have sent me another form so that i can apply for the mobility entitlement.I know i have to fill in the hole form again but his problems have not changed so i could just copy the photocopy that i keeped and updating it a little. My question is will they revue his form then withdraw my award in which case i would be better just not applying but he has major problems when we are out and about running into the middle of the road, walking along the kerb, major tantrums when he just refuses to walk you guys know the story i dont need to tell you.My sure start sociol worker thinks i should apply and that i would have a good case. I would really appreciate it if anyone has been in this situation if you could post and let me know what the outcome was.It might help me to make up my mind. Thanks in advance Joyce
  5. Well we went to the assessment Yesterday afternoon, and it was as you guys had said lots and lots of questions from birth right up to the present day.It was hard work and i was shattered by the end of it but thats it over and i think it went well!!Next week we have to take our son who will be assessed and videoed ,I have been told that he will have fun. After that we will meet in about five weeks time to discuss there findings and get a diagnosis. So at least its not taking to long and hopefully then we will get the help for our son Hope everyone is Ok and thanks for the help Joyce
  6. Thanks everyone i will try and have my answeres ready,Katya I hope all goes well with you on Thursday I will try and let you know how we got on and what kind of stuff they ask. Joyce
  7. Hi Folks I am wondering if anyone can help.We have just received a letter to say that my sons assessment for an asd is starting next Wednesday. This is taking the form of an interview with myself and my hubby my son has not to be present. It says they will take a full history but can anyone tell me what they are looking for ?will it be from birth up till now(he is very nearly four)and any ideas who might be there(professional wise). The following Wednesday Iain has to go for his assessment and this will be videoed again what happens? As you can imagine I am dreading the whole process but want some answers re his behaviour so i Know its for the best.I am so glad that i have found the sight as at least i can ask you lot my questions and Know that i am not alone. Thanks in Advance Joyce
