  1. It probablyis simple it is probably me making it seem more complicated with all the detail, I forgot to mention the parent Karen defelice is a scientist and all proceeds from book over production cost goes to charity, she has her own website, I still can't do links whichi s really annoying as i can't help people with the information directly, if you type enzymes for autism into search engine it should give you it.

  2. JenRose,

Re the nappies issue. Your daughter may well not have the same sense of pressure in the bladder that other kids have when they need to wee. I know of a little girl who is totally oblivious to the sensation of weeing even when she is doing it - its only when the puddle emerges that she is aware then seems very shocked that it has come from her. I would also run this issue past your CDC as they may not agree with the Nursery approach. I f you do not feel comfortable with it then do not agree with it.

  3. There are various other natual remedies you could try to fight the candida :

    - try eliminating sugar as much as you can from her diet - sugar feeds the yeast and helps it to thrive and also suppresses the immune system

    - Extra Virgin Coconut Oil

    -garlic

    - red onion

    - MCT oil

The National Candida Society have a website which has a lot of information on it.

  4. I think the Mumps vaccine is harder to come by and therefore more expensive to purchase.

My daughter had single measles vaccine with no apparent reaction but I had given her buffered Vit C and Echinicea for a week before and after to boost her immune system.

  5. Hi Brook,

I wish I could help you with this but I can't - because I hate watching people eating outside as well - and I'm a 38 yr old NT ! I especially can't bear people eating in the sunshine - it makes my skin crawl. It used to be difficult as a youngster with my mates abroad on hols - their hangover cure was always a fry-up at a pavement cafe ! Fried egg in the sunshine was enough to make me do a runner.

I'm not sure your son won't always be annoyed by it but perhaps as he matures he will find stategies to deal with it.

  6. My health visitor noted my concerns at the 2 year check-up and asked an early intervention worker to come and visit with us. She asked me if I thought there was anything different about my daughter and I blurted out that I was worried she had autism ( I had never voiced this out loud to anyone else prior to her visit )

She agreed that there were a lot of behaviours going on which indicated autism and asked me if I wanted a referral to the local Child Centre or wanted to 'wait a bit'. I was totally terrified at the time and said I thought she was too young for any tests. Within 3 days I had recovered my composure and 'phoned her back to ask for a referral. Once the ball started rolling she had received a diagnosis of ASD within 6 months - she is high functioning and verbal but they don't want to pin it down as Aspergers until she's older.

It's only on seeing other parents problems with obtaining a diagnosis that I realise how lucky we have been - knowledge is power right enough.

  7. Hi Jill,

I have decided against my daughter getting a booster of the DPT jab. She reacted very badly to to these injections at age 3 and 4 months and I've always had a very bad feeling that 'something' happened at that time if you know what I mean. I don't know what I'd do if she hadn't had these previous reactions however - go with your gut instinct and that should be right.

  8. Hi Jaded,

You could also let them know how little ( if any ) natural fruit is in things like McD's 'banana' milkshake etc and they are actually just a chemical cocktail !!

I would definitely try and discuss aspartame as I know most people look upon this as a healthy option because it reduces sugar intake and I have been horrified by effects of it.

Good luck - I'd come along if I could, you've always given great info here. :notworthy:
