  1. I can actually see in my sons face the difference between when he's just kicking off or whether he is in meltdown mode,as soon as it begins,in meltdown mode he gets a LOOK and it's like he's lost to me

( and himself sometimes) anyone else know what I mean?

  2. I still look at my son and feel like crying some days .It's not that I am not happy with him the way he is. I mourn for what he misses out on and all he has to go through and put up with from other kids etc.

Thing is I don't think he's much bothered!

  3. Hi richt, just wanted to say well done on seeing your gp,do you think maybe your gp could write a letter for you to give to your boss explaining that a move may not be the best thing for you at the moment and maybe give you a note for some time off it need not go into full details.Don't know if this helps, just an idea, hope you get it all sorted. Take care.

  4. Hi jax , my son was diagnosed at 13 he is now 15 and believe me I made a lot of mistakes in the past I always knew something was wrong but stupidly listened to the higher powers that said he was fine, until he was 12 and I demanded an assessment. Before that I used to tell him things like grow up,act your age etc.I didn't know any better then and I still wish I could turn the clock back. You are not a cr*p mum.You shouldn't feel guilty ,but that fact that you do proves you are a good mum.

Take care and welcome to the site ,hope you'll stay.

  5. No advice to give nikrix, hope you get to the bottom of this soon.

As for not feeling that you fit in ,I too sometimes feel like this .I think it's just that sometimes it's all too much, when we have problems with our kids it's hard to relate to other peoples. At least thats what I find ,and if I'm a bit low,I tend to stay away from posting and just look in.

  6. Lauren I am too angry for words the poor child. When will these people learn.

Easier said than done but you need to relax and forget or at least push it to the back of your mind for the weekend. Just look after him and yourself for now.. >:D<<'> >:D<<'> >:D<<'> take these for william.

  7. Glad to hear you had such a good evening Jb , really cheers you up the little things ,don't it.Hope you have many more.

OMG...My son( 15,stroppy teen) just came up to me and told me I have ten mins left on the computer and he's trusting me to get off myself,he doesn't want to have to come out here and tell me fifty times. He copied what I say to him word for word and he did it to be funny.Roll on more good moods..do you think there's something in the air?

I'm out of here...have to set a good example..Think it will work? Got the good mood shouldn't push it eh?

  8. My son used to chew his tops and t-shirts.Then it moved from that to his wooden bunk beds!! these days (he's 15) he chews straws when finished drinking with them.If you give him a packet of sweets in paper (not plastic) he will chew up the wrapper, same goes for lolly-pop sticks. There are a few others can't think of them now, also he bites his nails down to nothing.( I do this too ,always have done )

  9. I know how you feel I often tell my hubby I may as well be on my own.He does try( most of the time) but he just doesn't get it,that I have most of the responsability for my son.If I go off on one, when I get stressed I get offered a hug,I should be grateful but really!!!.I went to the gp finally last week and he did a load of tests but said he would not be surprised if nothing showed as I am totally stressed and doing too much on my own. I told my H but he reacted as if I were telling a friend or neighbour, all sympathy,no solutions..aaarg :wallbash:

To all the men on the board..I know you all don't live in la la land where a hug solves everything....

I do love him really..but my patience is wearing thin.

  10. I always had this trouble with my son.I'd stand there and watch other kids lie through their teeth and if I tried to explain that K does not/can't lie ,then I got the funny looks from the teachers and nods to each other.....you know the ones I mean.
