  1. Let me chime in Greetings to all! During the past eight years, my wife and I worked effortlessly with our only child who has been labelled autistic. We have studied ways to offer him opportunities to move up the developmental ladder. Our challenge, as I'm sure all of you know, is locating appropriate developmental approaches that engages him at his current level of functioning, works with unique features of his nervous system, and utilizes intensive interactive experiences to enable him to master new capacities. Traditionally, we have looked at our children with special challenges in terms of labels. Global labels: autistic, PDD, mental retardation, ADHD, and so on. My wife and I challenge all tradionalists to try to move beyond the labelling of our children. Although many children are given labels that are misleading, parents strive to pinpoint their child's unique strengths and challenges. We parents attempt to not have our children obscured or unwittingly demorlaized by labels. We simply attempt to create positive expectations for our children. Just felt like rambling abit Taylor USA
