  1. Don't worry to much about it. It is usual to make a remark such as 'I hope all goes well with the operation'. Next time you see your mentor, just ask how his wifes operation went. I tend to do that kind of thing a lot. When some one throws in an unexpected comment in a conversation, I don't tend to process it quick enough to get the suitable reply. It is only when I have had time to think about it, that I realise what I should have said.
  2. You really need to tell it like it is. I know it is distressing talking to other people about your inability to cope with your son's behaviour. I get really down, and normally burst into tears when I have to talk about my son's behaviour. However, if you want the help you need and deserve, you are going to have to be brutely honest. If you think that meds are right for you son, then fetch the subject up at your next appointment at CAMHS. At the very least they can discuss the pros and cons with you. Your son probably is a star at school, because the school day is highly structured. It is difficult to get the same amount of structure at home. You are doing a good job in difficult circumstances. Take care of yourself.
  3. Is there a 'Community team for people with learning disablilites' or and 'autism family support team' that you can be refered to. They maybe able to offer help in dealing with his aggression. It certainly is not easy dealing with a child who is aggresseive to you. My son can be aggressive. He is not allowed to share transport to school because of his tendency to become aggressive when distressed. Glad you have calmed down a little. Take care
  4. Could try contacting the NAS.
  5. taxi (my son uses the phase taxi time every school morning)
  6. You could also contact Citizens advice. Link
  7. Welfare rights will help you with your appeal. Just google 'welfare rights + (the area you live)', and you should receive a list of your local centres. They helped me to get higher rate mobility for my son.
