I was asked by the OT to fill in a sensory profile on k awhile ago now, yet i still havent heard anything back, has anyone else done one??

Do they tell you the outcome of it or is it just for there reference?

Claire,

I filled out a sensory questionnaire for our youngest dd. It took the OT months to mark it, due to lack of staff we were told. We thought we would learn alot from it, but unfortunately all we were told on the report was that our dd's had difficulties in all areas of the questionnaire, and these difficulties were consistent with a dx of ASD and MD. Hope you learn more from yours. May be worth giving your OT a bell to chase it up. Take care

We did a sensory profile and then the ot did a school observation i think to back up what she saw from the profile . It took about 3/4 weeks until i had a home visit to discuss it. It was well worth it. It gave me a whole new perpective on my sons behaviour and it has made me rethink how i go about things. I had read about as children suffering with sensory issues but ignored it to an extent. She told me that my son really suffers with sensory overload and detailed with evidence what was happening to him. Fascinating really although very sad! Another piece of the jigsaw!!!

We did a sensory profile. Our sons teacher did one and also the specialist support services. It took about 6 weeks to compare them. This was than used with the OT assessment to make a diagnosis.
