westie Report post Posted December 2, 2006 (edited) Hi, I have just ordered "the incredible 5-point scale" and "when my autism gets too big", which are both books that detail techniques to help your child to regognise emotions and feelings and to deal with them. They were recommended by a specialist because my son has big problems managing and speaking about his feelings. Has anyone else read these books? What do you think? Thanks Edited December 2, 2006 by westie
smiley Report post Posted December 2, 2006 (edited) We've got both - great books . My son's a little book worm, so books are a great way of explaining things to him. I've recently brought a set of four books.... What's My Family Tree? How Will I Grow? How Did I Begin? How Should I Behave? By Mick Manning & Brita Granstrom. (through the book club at school). How will i grow and How should i behave have been huge hits . They've got all the sensible stuff, in easy to read and understandable language - and also fun stuff, like 'Why shouldn't i pick my bogeys?' . chriss Report post Posted December 3, 2006 I got "when my autism gets to Big" for my son and was quite disappointed with it to be honest. it's Ok just massively overpriced for what it actually is.
