Karen A Report post Posted April 3, 2007 Hi I think your friend is mistaken.Dyspraxia is Dx by a paediatrician or maybe OT.It is similar to AS/ASD in that it is Dx by observing a pattern of difficulties/needs displayed during assessment.There is a suggestion with Dyspraxia that there may be an inherited/genetic tendancy but I don't think the researches will have got as far as identifying the genes involved.Even if they do it would still be easier and cheaper for a paediatrician or OT to do an assessment.Regards Karen. tinytrace Report post Posted April 4, 2007 as far as i know there is no blood test for dyspraxia but when my son was diagnosed they did send him for a blood test to see if he had 'fragile X' as apparently they have the same sorts of symptoms so maybe thats what your friend was talking about Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
