AW poor Kieran hope he feels better tomorrow now its out.He did really well to have it done at the dentists did he get knocked out?? M had to have lots out sadly his teeth have always been terrible, but they referred him to the day unit at hospital to have it done.Do try the PCT number to see if they have a SN dentist they really are excellent if you can track one down!!! I was told to alternate the calpol and neurofen for pain relief but M has such a high pain threshold he only had one lot then sneaked off with a tin of pringles

oR bless him, its horrible having to go to the dentist, I cant cope with the needles, yuk, but dees info is correct if you can get a SN dentisit they are really good as they take into acount the sensory issues and help them deal with the issues dentistry will have.

J cant have the injection as he would freek with the sensation, so upto now he has been having fillings without numbing it and he has been better but under specialist dentist trained in Special Needs.

J has not gone back for his follow up appointments though, the dentist changed the dates and didnt send us a letter to remind us.

I need to rearrange it all again, dentists on the NHS is dire and its really disgusting that children are having them removed because of early intervention was not available.

Also the National Autistic Society do a booklet on dentists a booklet for parents and proffessionals to understand the difficulties that ASD children will have relating to the difficulties it has to help them keep them clean, J hates washing his teeth and its taken a long time to get him to tolerate it, he now has a electric toothbrush with a small head, and enamal toothpaste, the new one, its great stuff.
