brooke Report post Posted September 10, 2007 We got my son a bed last year with money from the family fund the only thing they said was it HAD to be bought with argos vouchers, now normally i wouldnt mind but ive had too much furniture from there that is rubbish. Well for the millionth time his bed had broken yet again I am so sick of it, i might as well of spent the money on games for him at least he'd get some use out of them. We cant get our money back suprise suprise so ive given up and orderd him yet another bed (not from Argos) i just cant afford it I feel bad for him too as he will have to get used to sleeping on something new again. Oh and the other great thing that happened was ds1 somehow climbed my cuboards got the flour out and yep you guessed it tipped it all over the carpet with me chasing him I cant even hoover it up as i cleaned the filter on my hoover this morning and it wont dry out till tomorrow. Well at least i have another story for my mum who thinks my life is hilarious Brooke

Minxygal Report post Posted September 10, 2007 What is it with beds, Mark goes through 3 or so a year and it drives me mad. If he doesnt break it he removes the stuffing from the mattress. So glad its not just me.
zaman Report post Posted September 10, 2007 I used to work for a children's charity, and the beds for their residential units had to be bought from specialist suppliers for exactly these sorts of reasons. Could you SS or OT departments be able to help find you stronger beds?
pepper Report post Posted September 12, 2007 *cries* did someone mention beds??? i think im actually physically exausted, was just getting 15yr old aspie son to try on some school pants as he seems to have suddenly shot up and he sighs, glances at bunk beds and muttered 'why do i have to have bunk beds AT my age?' and i realised, hes almost a man and.......it is a bit babyish when he said 'i cant even sit up in bed and read' i felt like heartless, thoughtless parent of the century! next moment im there with allan key, screwdrivers, juggling a million bolts at 7pm @ night - have just finished at...*checks watch* almost 10pm May I proudly announce he is now tidying his room (thats a miricle in itself) AND has a nice normal single bed - sisters have bunk and single (one floor up) and i'm not sure i'll ever be able to stand straight again Anyone ever moved furniture with AS child? DONT DO IT!! he may be a wee bit bigger and stronger than me, but my brain is FRIED! (and im not sure i can fix the bannisters) tomorrows another day
