arghhhhhhhh

Recommended Posts

my DS has been excluded again in the last 3 weeks he has only had 3 days at school.

i keep calling his sen case worker but they just tell me there is a meeting on the 29th feb, to try a arange a schooling package adapted to him.

however saw head master yesterday and he said package will be mix and match, sometimes he will be in school sometimes one to one with a teacher and sometimes at a learning centre.

i'm really worried as thomas hates change and we normally have huge problems any time things are change.

they have a new senco at the school who doesn't seem to know anything about aspergers, on her 1st day she changed DS reward system DS kicked off then got excluded.

i want thomas in a special school however seem to be banging my head against a break wall.

i'm so worried as he is nearly 11 a i'm not sure how much longer i can cope with him

i have contacted CAMHS and they are doing an assesment on tues, however have no idea how they can help, has anyone else delt with CAHMS????

Hi Tanya,

So sorry to hear you are all going through a rough patch at the moment >:D<<'> .

Somebody should be along shortly who can give you more information about CAMHS, we never had any dealings with them so, I can't help there, but I'm sure their input could only help your current situation.

Are you going to the 29th Feb meeting? If you haven't been invited, you really should be there. Your input into your son's education is very important, especially as the new SENCO doesn't appear to understand your son's difficulties  .

Hi tanya, camhs stands for child and adolescent mental health service. They helped my son revieve a dx, get a statement, offered counselling for him and therapy. When you meet them give them as much evidence as you can find to show your son would be much better suited out of mainstream. They should help the school implement measures to help your son(if they have,nt already) such as visual cues/timetable, quiet haven etc.Within their department they have pyschciatrists, ed physch, salt, OT, family therapists etc.Ours also prescribe melatonin and other meds for anxiety and depression.

..........When we met ours they were very helpful, we told them how our ds was struggling at school etc (this was backed up by the school) and felt he needed statementing thankfully they supported us and recommended he have one.So if ultimately a sopecialist place is what you believe your son needs you need to get them onside and get his current school to support you too.Hope your meeting goes o.k., best wishes suzex

thank you suze and annie for support and advice.

we are going to the meeting to will be good to have our input.

the school is in full support othomas going to specail needs school.

at the moment where i live the only suitable school is already 1 child over what they can have and therefore cannot take my son. at last meeting it was decided to apply for funding for a boarding school, however this was turned down on grounds that they think the school has made good progress with him.

i am going to appeal the decision (no idea how to do that at mo lol) as my son has improved academically at the school, but his melt downs are much worse and he has 1 to 1 from the moment he gets to school until i pick him up, and still they cannot manage him

maybe cahms can help me with that???

yesterday he assaulted a teacher and broke 2 windows the week before he assaulted a teacher and was swearing at every one.

does anyone else find fighting the system so frustrating!!!!!

anyway feel i've moaned enough today lol

sorry x x x x x

Hi, My ds was excluded from his primary school in yr 6, 7 days after getting new full-time worker who changed everything immediately, he keep leaving school and going to the police! he was out of school for over a year before it was sorted out, he has only just started back at a special school, he has a taxi and it has taken all this time and effort to get the funding, it nearly sent me mad. Then just when I got school sorted out his behaviour at home has now changed, perhaps he can only be good for so long! Yes I do find it soo frustrating!!!!!
