Hello all

Recommended Posts

My 14 yr old son has just been diagnosed with AS. To be honest, it was a relief as I didn't know where I would be able to go next.

M, has not had much schooling since year 6, and the people who assessed him said that he would never be able to go into a big school again. At the moment he is attending a hospital school for four hours a week, which is nowhere near enough. He has one to one with a tutor.

Am not really sure what else to say at the moment.

Looking forward to getting to know you all.

Hi and welcome to the forum :)

Don't worry too much about the 4 hours tuition. My son was having 5 hours until we got his school sorted out and he made huge progress in that time, because dedicated teaching of 1-1 from a qualified teacher adds up to quite a lot when you compare it to the amount a child learns in a whole week in a school with big classes etc.

My son is also 14 and his recently started at an Aspergers specific special school after over a year out of school because his mainstream placement went pear shaped.
