Tally Report post Posted July 23, 2008 (edited) I had a very nice day. It was cold when I left home so I wore a long-sleeved T-shirt and a jumper, but by the time I got to Stonehenge I was way too warm. It was very nice to see it after driving past it so many times. The toilets were a bit manky and you'd think they'd make a bit more of an effort considering people come from all over the world to Stonehenge. I think the toilets were almost as old as the monument itself! We didn't get to Avebury in the end it was too far, so we ate some lunch in Amesbury instead and got covered in Thunder flies. That was OK because the two places kind of sound the same Then we went to Salisbury and looked at the Cathedral and my mum had an ice cream. I got a nice postcard of a painting of Stonehenge by Turner. Turner used to live in my parents' house, so I was interested to see his paintings. Shame he didn't leave any paintings under the floorboards! Now I am very tired and worn out, so I am going to bed! I will post you some photos tomorrow.
