Newbie to site and recent dx for my 8yr son

Recommended Posts

Hi there came across this site due to desperately looking up on all things to do with asperger's to see how I can further assist my little boy.

He has only just been diagnosed for a week but tbh we always knew there was something there from a very early age.

He is currently in a language unit of a mainstream primary but is due to move schools soon which we are fighting against as we feel this would set back all the language progress he has made since starting school. Fingers crossed he can just filter into the schools mainstream section without having to go through the trauma of changing schools.

Will be nice to chat with some of you and get advice on things to do with the dreaded dla and tips and tricks to help ease my sons life on track.

I have found it such a relief just to have the dx process over which in our case has taken a long time through one thing and another but then again perhaps not as long as some of you out there at the moment.

I am rambling now as per usual.

Hello again

Hi maggzymay Welcome to the Forum. :)

I have Ben age 10.Ben has AS and dyspraxia.I have been around on the Forum for a while but Ben was just dx AS in November last year so in some ways it feels new.

Don't mention the dreaded DLA.....I might start ranting in your thread which is not good.:lol: Karen.
