Has anyone seen this? No surprise. Our Lea didnt quite go this far but they did call the psch and try and get them to say that it wasnt severe.

We had a similar problem with my oldest boy when the education dept refused to accept his dx despite it being made by several doctors one of which was the top paediatric neurologist in Scotland. He has since been re-diagnosed and they have had to accept it this time although they are still not providing him with the help that he should have been getting for the past 8 years.

It is an absolute disgrace!

Hi

That's disgraceful. However, what is even sadder is that the likely reason for this reaching the news is because of who the child's father is. Sadly, we are not all high profile figures with bank balances to match. Cynical, but that's how it is. Hopefully, it registers with others that if this is happening to him, it's happening to others too.

Caroline.

I think many of us have had difficulties over LA's not accepting professional assessments. But to hear that an NHS dx was actually overturned after pressure from the LA is very worrying: it displays a complete lack of sensitivity and compassion on the part of education and medical officials. Getting a dx for a child can be an emotional and life changing event for parents and it's not something to be casually reversed or messed around with.
