WORK

Recommended Posts

If I needed may reminding why I am changing jobs, it was this weekend.

There I was toe to toe, eyeball to eyeball with a guest that I had just asked/ told to leave as it was gone 11pm, curfew time. He was offering to rearrange my facial features and I'm thinking I haven't got a change of underwear with me. One of us was going to back down and it wasn't going to be me. I think what swayed it in my favour was the presents of a couple of resident who would have been happy to have lynched him if he had started anything.

Only a few weeks to go now.

What are you moving on to do? .

Sound like you could do with a long relaxing holiday.

At least i know who to call upon if ever i find myself needing some protection!

At the moment I am a Night Support Worker at a project that provides accommodation and training opportunities to homeless young people.

My new job which I will be starting some time in June is, Night Support Worker at a home for people with learning disabilities, predominately Autism.

Then 9 days in the class room doing training, :hypno: which will include a day doing Autism Training and a day doing SCIP (Strategies for Crisis Intervention and Prevention).

Then when Iv done that there will be First Aid training. And of course my NVQ3.

I will be glad to get out of the job I'm in now, Not on my shift, but the police had to be called out again do to drunkenness and fighting by one of the new residents, only his 4th night there.
