cmuir Report post Posted June 16, 2009 Hi Feeling utterly bewildered and wondering who to throttle next! - Placing request for Autism specialist school was turned down on the basis that there are no places and that it was felt this was an unsuitable placement as my son's social skills are apparently very good in comparison. - Audit hours have been cut, not increased as stated in recent letter (they were actually cut last year, but no one saw fit to tell me despite me being told 'the same' which should have equated to 25 hours. - one person at school I felt I'd built up a rapport with is leaving (the headteacher) - R is getting teacher that apparently shouts and another one that I cannot bear (she's the special needs teacher and I seem to frequently lock horns with - she loves the sound of her own voice) - Got copy of Ed Psych's report that was submitted to PAG (placing request) who has got Rs diagnosis wrong (mild ASD!) and she's basically saying all issues are at home. I'm so angry and frustrated that I could scream. I've formally asked for copies of all reports which were submitted to PAG and asked for a new Ed Psych. I feel that she's done nothing for R and I have absolutely no trust or faith in her. R is basically stuck in a mainstream school which no specialist autism support (I don't even know what support is available - Ed Psych should have kept me informed presumably). pumpkinpie Report post Posted June 16, 2009 What was the reason for cutting his support? Can you show that since this has happened his behaviour has worstened at home and school? What support did the school say was in place which enabled the panel to make its decison - was it based on inaccurate info? Persoanally I would be looking at writing and challenging any inaccuracies in these reports particularly the ed psych - what evidence did she have to support her view it was a home issue?
