oxgirl Report post Posted September 15, 2010 Today my lad walked all the way to town on his own, bought himself some shower gel, walked all the way home and let himself in with his key. It's quite a long walk to town (about 20 mins.) and we've been working towards this day for ages and ages, baby steps, etc., but today he finally reached the end of our goal. He was very reluctant, has to be said and a lot of umming and ahhing and pacing before he went, almost backed out as he was putting on his shoes. He was very agitated and anxious when he got back a few mins ago, said he was nervous all the time and anxious but couldn't say what he was nervous of. He's walked to town on his own before, he's gone into a shop on his own before, he's walked home on his own before, but putting it all together was a very big challenge. I'm so proud that despite his fear he agreed to do it anyway and hope that next time it won't be so scary for him. ~ Mel ~
