Lyndalou Report post Posted October 12, 2012 I wonder how many autistics were involved in the rewriting of the DSM criteria?
Sa Skimrande Report post Posted October 12, 2012 The DSM criteria is not for patients it is and was always designed for the industry, clinicians diagnosticians and drug companies. It being for industry it doesn't care about people as it is concerned with the sole purpose of making money, as to understand the medics we come into contact with don't do what they do out of the goodness of their hearts, they do it because they get paid to do it. indiscreet Report post Posted October 13, 2012 (edited) "That, of course, begs the question of why we need to change the criteria at all." That's the crux of matter. Maybe I'm just being my normal paranoid self but I wonder whether the number of those reaching adulthood before the condition was recognized, and who are now asking to be tested, is causing concern that a positive diagnosis might lead to their asking for financial or other support.
