Nadine dorries, sally bercow- other women you think have AS??

Recommended Posts

Im a girl with AS. Without meaning to sound horribly unsisterly, or really bitchy... ive started to realise that a lot of the time if a woman seems 'a bit nuts' she may well be AS.

Sally bercow probably is- shes really unguarded- everything from her recnt quotes, to posing in a sheet for a photograph- and she has autistic children. She just gives off that weird vibe.

Nadine dorries may be too, and she has an onvious interest in AS as she put through the autism bill. She also makes big-mouth type comments. Again, tho this could be seen as a political move, its also the way i have behaved in the past- try not to now. Just amgrily or crossly convinced of my rightness, and impatient that others dont realise they are wrong.

Id say jan ravens is another dead cert. she is the female impressionist on dead ringers. She comes across as being a little odd and a bit nutty. She also said on QI that she has echolalia, which is common to AS.

Id apply all of this to myself, btw!! It wasnt until i crossly thought of a woman i know, then realised she was probably AS that this all clicked. I reflwcted that she seemed 'neurotic' and weird, and laughed, as i hate the description, having had it off shrinks myself... Then i went Oh... And realised that i know enough about her to fill in the rest with certainty- depression, hates people, poor eyecontact, digestive problems, obsessive interest, etc etc etc

Am i being mean or am i onto something?? Im honestly not using it in hateful way- just that these women seem very different to regular media types, are a little dificult, and then if you look more closely display some AS traits too.

:)

i believe sally Bercow has an autistic son so maybe the directness etc is due to dealing with it day in and day out, im not autistic but i find myself more and more probably sounding like i could be just because i havent got the time/patience/inclination to deal with some people.

I believe what is ASD is far more common than it is rare and I understand the more we look, the more we will see and where there is a profession to be had eyes are keen.

But it is true of many ASD people what we are we see in others and realise there are many undiagnosed who are happy in their existence there proving this thing can be lived with and it is only a problem when it is a problem.

But I wonder exactly how much of what we are is a direct result of our modern way of living and our technological advances, as to face it, we are far wealthier in terms of material goods and distractions than we have ever been in history, where indeed the electric light itself is attributed to a massive change in what we were, where now we have 'issues' where perhaps they were not before and the more I am understanding about natural circadian rhythm the more I am understanding the electric light can be our enemy through the fact artificial lighting has disrupted out natural cycles and encouraged us to move at a faster pace of life.

Amberwell, are you interested in fictitious characters too? In which case, I nominate Saga Norén from The Bridge.
