Backpacking with a child with Asperger's

This message is a bit cheeky, because it's only 10% about Asperger's and 90% not ... I'm the mother of a 9-year-old boy called Abraham who has Asperger's. Last summer I needed to go to Chad and Cameroon to research a book about an African slave called Abraham Hannibal who became a general in the Russian army. There was no one else to look after my son, so along he came too. It was all a bit hairy, but he coped amazingly well. If you want a break from working your way through earnest books just about AS and ASD, but are interested to discover how Abraham got on, the book is called THE MOOR OF ST PETERSBURG - IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF A BLACK RUSSIAN, and you can find it on amazon.co.uk or order it in bookshops (or they might even have it in stock). The author is Frances Somers Cocks. Abraham's only in the last 20% of the book, though.
