Kathryn Report post Posted September 4, 2005 ... this little gem is invaluable. I discovered it recently. Definitely one of my top 3. Living with High functioning Autism: a Parent's guide for professionals. by Mike Stanton You know when you're searching for the right words to write letters, explain to people about ASD: your child's problems at school, the shortcomings of the system, etc? This book says it all beautifully and so concisely. On every page I was thinking "exactly - I wish I'd said that!" It's written by a teacher of SEN who is also the parent of a son with ASD, and manages to be both personal and objective. Other books say much the same things, but this one covers all the important issues in only 120 pages, so it can be read in a sitting. Every school should have one - buy several copies and dish them out to your favourite professionals! K
