How long...

Recommended Posts

Logan finally started sleeping through a month ago, and he did for three weeks in a row, which is the longest spell ever. The week in the assessment centre though understandably knocked him for six as he and I were staying in the hospital accomodation. Since we got back on Friday his sleeping has been a nightmare again.

I was kinda feeling human after three weeks of sleep so my question is how long, after disruption to routine, does it take your child to go back to their usual routine.

Thanks

Lynne

Can take my girlfriend weeks. usually till she feels relaxed in that environment again or with that task. After her last hospital stay (not related to AS/ASD) she was unsettled at home for about 2 weeks and then calmed again.

I guess every one is different and it may take others more or less time.

Keep your chin up.

Hi Lynne

I find with Char it varies a great deal I know this doesn't help you!!!It can take days or weeks it depend on what has changed

eg.. When we go on hol then come back home it is normally a nightmere it takes weeks but on the rare occassion he goes to sleep at my sisters house then it only takes a few night to get him back in his routine.Stay firm and keep to the routine which you had before as much as you can this should help him settle back down. Remember give him lots of reasurance to make him feel safe and the routine should come back after all ASD AS children like rouitne.
