smallworld Report post Posted January 22, 2006 I think with a physionomically (is that the right word ?) 'normal' asd child you get an entirely different stare, or more accurately stares ! people don't seem to be embarassed to be caught staring in the same way that they are with a more obvious disability ? I use my 'Paddington hard stare' in reply, which is sort of quizzical without been threatening (imagine Paddington bear thinking 'mmm, does that person staring at me know I have a marmalade sandwich under my hat, why else would they be staring at me ?' ) On a bad day, I'm more Travis Bickle 'YOU LOOKING AT ME' (AND MY CHILD) ? !! No wonder I get sent to the door to drive away the double glazing salesmen wac
UltraMum Report post Posted January 22, 2006 I think I usually have the raised eyebrow " you want to make something of this?" stare in return - actually we get less stares and more 'tut tut's
