Help! Help! Help!

Recommended Posts

Just about to submit our Parental Advice for Adam's proposed Statement. Have got to the part where they ask about how we think his SEN can be best provided for. So far have included

-15+hrs support from a TA

-SALT during school hours

-OT

-Input form Specialist Teaching Service and Autistic Outreach

-Training for teachers at Adam's school

-Classroom strategies eg visual timetable, quiet workstation

What else should I include? What have I missed out? I thought there was a pinned post about a Sataemtn Wishlist but can't find it. Must have imagined it

To be honest haven't got a clue whether I'm writing the advice in the appropriate way but it's currently 9 pages long! A lot of the questions about his early years or life at home seem irrelevent to the statementing process.

Thanks for any suggestions

I would write what ever he needs using the reports you have.

Social communications difficult ( PSY report dated .........) hence my child needs......................

LSA trained in ASD (Diagnosis of ASD....................)

Has social and communication problems (ASD report..........)therefore to have one lSA support for...................as my child needs pre tutoring in science, english etc.

Do you have any IEP or meeting or statements off the teachers expressing your childs difficulties then use these my child needs..............as discussed in the meeting with school teachers on......................

Hopefully you will then get a statement that describes your child. I will PM you an example of my childs statement.

When you receive the proposed statement you need to look at it in detail to make sure it fits your child difficulties
