another camhs appointment tomorrow

just letting you know where im up to -another appointment tomorrow with camhs /autism salt.

son not going to it.

wondering what if any conclusion is going be made.

i will let folk know of outcome .

Best of luck ? hope you hear what you're hoping to hear if that makes any sense.

 

In my case, my son is 4.5 and I very much felt like we were being passed from pillar to post. Cut a long story short, one particular consultants name kept cropping up again and again as the person to see, however she had been off sick for months due to a serious injury. I kept phoning her secretary every couple of weeks to see if there was any sign of her returning. Hey presto she phoned me one Friday and arranged an ADOS assessment on the Tuesday. Had to wait 10 agonising days for the results, but I got a diagnosis for my son. That was exactly what I'd been praying for! So many specialists/people kept telling me that my son didn't need a diagnosis to get help. Boy, they were so wrong! Inbetween snibbling (bit of an emotional rollercoaster being given the news ? relief, sadness, etc) I asked what happens now to be told that my son would get help with X, Y and Z by various specialists.

just letting you know -all is going well and certainly am being listened to now.set a date for another ados test-my son had one before but he was very young then.

ive been asked to cam corder his tics/movements [and im going do his meltdowns], so going to do that.

so all is well and moving along[with big thank you to this forum for helping me get further along the road <'> ]

hi marie, it sounds really good , things seemed to have changed at the clinic since my son was dx.It goes through the DATA team now which means more proffessionals get involved and discuss the dx. When my ds was dx it was just the physch who saw him and diagnosed, it seems to have changed now.Come to the next meeting in june we,ll help if you need support , take care suzex..........
