I opened this post with great interest as for the past year all my little angel will eat is pot noodles, jam sandwiches and chapatis with butter. I would give anything for her to tuck into spaghetti bolognaise (with or without the veg) but she has firmly put her foot down. All I can say is if they look healthy and feel healthy then whats the harm. She will occasionaly eat a banana but then the next day she can't stand them. As with all things we go through with our kids, its a phase, an obsession. I really wouldn't worry. just go with the flow and eventually veg will be the new best thing on the planet that they can't possibly live without.

Had to laugh at this. We live in a different world don't we ?. If I went to work tomorrow and said "guess what, Ashleigh actually asked for bolognaise sauce on her spaghetti" they would all look at me like I had gone mad. Yet with us it means the world. Congratulations. All Ashleigh ever wants to eat is toast with butter. Yet when she goes to her grandmas she will eat other things. Ashleigh tells me that she doesn't like my ccoking. The thing is that she tells me this when all I have made her is a jam sandwich.

I completely know where you are coming from on this one. I also have lots of boxes for different types of toys. Problem is that Ashleigh can empty every single box at lightening speed and a lot of her toys do have millions of tiny parts to them (any one heard of polly pocket?). Got that sick of tidying them away into the right boxes that I now just fling them in any box going. Not ideal but keeps me relatively sane. Only problem is when she asks me for a certain piece of a certain toy. 3 hours of rummaging later and everyones happy. Don't even get me started on the bathroom thing. Ashleigh has taken to making magic potions with every available lotion and potion in the bathroom. Have now started to buy the cheapest shampoo, bubble bath etc that the supermarkets do. Lisa x

Thank you all for your support. Just got back from a very succesful trip to the seaside with my other half and my dd (Ashleigh). She loved every minute and had a huge smile on her face all day. Think we have created a bit of a gambling monster though. The speed at which she was feeding those 2 pences into the slots was outstanding. Thanks once again. You have all made me feel really welcome. Lisa x p.s. Just thought about what was said about not opening christmas presents until weeks after christmas. Ashleigh usually opens them all on the day but some of them have not yet been taken out of the packaging and we are now in May.

Hiya all. Guess I will give this another go. The first time I posted on here was, unfortunately, just about the time that the sight was being hacked into and I ended up with a rather embarassing picture at the end of my post. So, as I originally said, I am new to this sight and have a 7 year old dd. For the last few months she has been a little cherub but just lately things have started to go a bit downhill. Screaming and outbursts from her are becoming more frequent and are set off by the smallest of things. For example I got her a new dvd as a present. Silly me thought I was doing something nice. In return I got a screaming fit and dd throwing the dvd across the room saying she doesn't want to watch it because she is not used to it yet. Will I never learn ?
