I've got the same thing in my profile however if I log out of the forum and then try and view somebodies profile it gives me an error and tells me I need to be logged on. I'm pretty sure the forum is fine though I cant explain this anomaly. However, as this is a public internet forum the standard warnings still apply. Always safeguard your personal information and dont put anything in your profile that you wouldnt want the rest of the world to know. What they cant hack today, they may be able to hack tomorrow! Hi all, Looks like a certain IP address in the US had taken an unhealthy interest in our site. This could be malicious or just a badly configured search engine. Either way it hasnt done any damage and our security hasnt been breached. I've blocked the IP address from accessing the site and there have been no further attempts for the last 15mins (whereas before it was every couple of seconds) We'll keep an eye out and thanks for letting us know so quickly. You are all now unofficial forum security officers (it doesnt come with a uniform or badge though I'm afraid) Keep em peeled!! Kris

Yep, the software gets upgraded whenever security patches come out. Sometimes the patch just remove a portion of the site that is vulnerable until such time as the developers issue a permanent fix for that component only. It's unfortunate but necessary I'm afraid. Could have been worse though, it could have been the PM system that was shutdown Kris

Hi Paula, Having read the post again I can see what you meant now so sincere apologies from me for the misunderstanding, I obviously read it the wrong way. No need for the post to be removed or edited any further. We have to protect the forum which means sometimes erring on the side of caution particularly when naming products, organisations or individuals. I know other websites take a more liberal approach to this but the admins have been approached in the past and threatened with legal again over a post (or a series of posts) so we are a touch sensitive No hard feelings at all, dont worry <'> Kris

Hi Paula, I can assure you that the post has not be tampered with in any way by any moderator or admin, if it doesnt work it is because it was entered wrongly in the first place. However the post itself does fly very close to the wind in regards to our rule about advertising commercial products or services however I will allow it to continue as I dont believe that financial gain is the incentive here. I have asked one of the mods to remove the line that states that the book accuses an MP of duplicity as this is in breach of our forum guidelines regarding libel and defamation of character. Hiya, Best laid plans and all that.... it turns out that I cant create a new account for Oreo after all, the software just won't let me The best way to fix this is to get Oreo to re-register with a new username - I would tell her to keep the username very similar so that we still know it's her (besides which I like her avatar) and then we'll (or more specifically Lufty will) be able to transfer her old posts over to her new name. Sounds a bit long winded but it'll be the quickest method I think. Kris
