  1. I have a phenomenal imagination. I hate eye contact and don't enjoy physical contact. We're all unique.

    Music

The albums I have been playing a lot have been:- Gary Moore - Power of the Blues. Al Stewart - Year of the Cat. The Flower Kings - Retropolis. Transatlantic - SMPTe. I.Q. - Dark Matter. The Levellers - Levelling the Land. Rush - Vapor Trails. Bela Fleck & The Flecktones - Little Worlds.
  3. Here's an overview of the cult:- Scientology: Beliefs and practices It's very strange because usually reading about someone's beliefs (however odd) usually brings some form of clarification however tenuous but reading through this makes me think that the followers are even nuttier.
  4. My Mum was born in the 30's, I once asked her if everyone walked as quickly in her day. I was referencing those old black and white films where everyone looked as if they were walking really fast
  5. Mighty Rearranger has been on a heavy rotation in this house since its release and I was very fortunate indeed to see Robert Plant & Strange Sensation at WOMAD last year. They were brilliant. As for Mark Knopfler, I watched the film Wag the Dog last night and was convinced it was J.J. Cale playing the lead in solo and it was Mark. I agree that he can sound soulless but his playing on WtD was great and his recent album Back to Shangri-La was lovely, in a Chris Rea/Tony Joe White kind of way. I must also mention Albert Lee.
  6. Scientologists believe that psychiatry is evil:- Scientology and psychiatry I'm surprised at how many celebrities are involved in this sinister sci-fi cult. In fact, try looking for Scientology on Wikipedia then look for the link to people who are Scientologists. Some of the names on that list will surprise you:- List of wacko nutjobs!
  7. I'm personally listening to Gary Moore at the moment, an album called Power of the Blues with Bob Daisley on bass. I was watching the 1987 concert on video that Gary recorded from Isstadion Stadium with Bob on bass and he looks totally different now. The ageing process takes no prisoners does it?
  8. See the Bitty Schram topic in Off Topic. I love Monk too <'>
  9. Tally, get the hell out of there. That's not love mate. Do you have relatives close by you could stay with? If so, do it. Then get in touch with the Citizens Advice Bureau in your area and find out what they have with regards women's issues/domestic violence/spousal abuse. Do this for yourself Tally, get out of this unhealthy atmosphere. Are you able to transfer to another branch of where you work or could you tell someone there, someone in management what is going on, so that he can't come in issuing threats. Just get out of there <'>
  10. It's tough though sometimes because I worry about these people who have turned on me and I think about them more than I should do and because I want their approval, I find myself acting as they've asked me to so even though they are no longer in my life their influence remains. My Mum says "but you don't spend as much time thinking about the people who do genuinely care about do you?" and she's right.

Alexander O'Neill played at Brannigans here in Reading a few years back
  12. I worry on here though too, sometimes I re-read a post I've written and wonder how it comes across. Thanks for all the lovely comments and words of support. Much appreciated And Hi Karen <'>
  13. Religion and science can and do go hand in hand all the time. Buddhism is very open to scientific breakthroughs, that's one example.
  14. I am reminded here of a quote by Richard Dawkins:- That says it all for me

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY

    Happy Birthday Tylers-mum and Paula <'> <'> <'> <'>
  16. Thank you everyone for your support and encouragement. I spoke to Mum about it earlier because she is a good judge of character and has often told me in advance that someone isn't good for me and I have railed against her and been horrible myself and said "you just don't want me to have friends" but she knows my difficulties and isn't trying to smother me but protect me. I was worried that I was maligning him and she hasn't so far said anything about this person. Today I spoke to her about him and said that I don't feel he's any good for me and he speaks down to me and is horrible and she said "I've never liked him, I was afraid you'd hang around and become very unhappy and I didn't want to say anything because you would feel I was interfering but I can see you're getting better at discerning who's good for you and who isn't. You're learning. Now stay away as he's trouble." I felt really good about that because I am slowly beginning to see who's good for me and who isn't. Then we both sat down with a cup of tea and watched Monk though I'd inadvertently missed the first 10 minutes but I caught up okay so it's all good
  17. I would like to see the film The Constant Gardener.

  19. I like all the detective dramas but my faves so far are Columbo and Sherlock Holmes. Monk is unique shall we say Frost is good too This is tomorrow's Monk:- Monk Wed 22 Feb, 2:35 pm - 3:20 pm 45mins Mr Monk Goes to the Carnival: Monk, who suffers from vertigo, investigates the death of a police detective accused of murdering an informant on a ferris wheel.
  20. Sparrows might not appear all that interesting but be grateful you are able to see them (gosh that sounded like I was ranting at you, wasn't honest) as in some areas they are so severely depleted that they are a rarity
  21. The new character was put in place immediately (like Sharona, she has a young child, a daughter) and from what others have said, Monk has been changed irrevocably.

    James Blunt
