At the age of 2 we told our eldest DD (sadly no longer with us) that if she gave Santa her dummy she'd get a present. She ran in to the grotto threw the dummy at him and shouted present (oh the shame) She never mentioned the dummy again til christmas morning opened all her presents then cried for most of the day cos Santa hadn't brought the dummy back.

My Youngest goes to a primary with 90 pupils so its small and its brilliant with him. My next 2 go to a secondary with 500 so again small but sadly lacking in help for either of them, just last week the senco told me he thought he might put my son aged 15 on school action!!!!! I told him not to bother it was too little too late he leaves in May next year and he can't wait!!!

Hi Its not just jokes 2 of mine don't get.... last night we watched Britains got the pop factor jesus christ superstar strictly on ice the Peter Kay spoof well we spent an hour trying to explain to a 9 & 13 year old that it isn't REAL!!!!! They just couldn't get it. Thought we'd convinced them that the woman was really Peter Kay but my 13 year old has just come in and said ' I think Gearldine won that show last night cos it said on the tv that shes got a cd out'!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh IT ISN'T REAL. :wallbash:LOL LOL

Hi Slightly different as my 9 yr old son has ADHD and its about cubs. But hes not wanted to go anymore which was odd as hes loved it, turned out that sometimes hes gotten told to stop moaning. He gets very very whingy when his meds have worn off. So I had a long talk to the cub leader who was really understanding and said she talk to the other leaders but she asked what I thought of getting him to talk to the cubs about ADHD and she'd get her son to talk about his diabeties as well. I asked him and he said he would if I was there too which is fine but I'm more worried about the reactions of the other kids parents if they hear about it. My elder son wasn't dx until he was 10 and went through hell mainly due to other parents at his school before and after dx. Theres so many people out there with such prejudiced ideas of what ADHD is and I don't want my son to be on the wrong end of it.

My 17 year old son is wanting to stop going to college any more, hes already done 1yr of a 2yr course in 4 A levels, and he says hes going to get a job. So me and his dad have said that if hes working full time we expect him to pay board. He can't believe it , he thinks its really wrong of us and hes never heard of anyone else having to pay their parents! So hes stormed out the house saying he'd rather leave! We'd never got as far as saying how much. Do other parents ask for board or are we really old fashioned harsh parents?
