    odd socks

Are you supposed to Change your socks.
  2. Hi there Our son now 8 has always had a problem with food right from day one. We kept a log for the first 2 years partly to show the health visitor to show that we were feeding him as he put on so little wight. Just managed to avoid any intervention. Not sure what they had in mind. He, even now does not seem to recognise that he is hungry. Never had school dinners and very fussy what he has in his lunch box. What others at school say/do seems to make a difference. He'll have something in his lunch box for weeks then all of a sudden it will be a no no. Today;- breakfast,. 3 spoons of coco pops very small glass of milk, Lunch 3/4 of a meat paste sandwich 2 digestive biscuits. Few sweets on the way home that a friend gave him. Tea, 2 fish fingers a spoonful of baked beans. small glass of Orange. That was it today. This was a bad day but not that unusual. But then we get a day when he does not stop eating and we get worried that he is over doing it. I don't worry to much as he is never ill and has always got loads of energy. He never use to be able to open crisps, If he wanted them in his lunch box, I opened them and folded the top over and sort of wedged them so they stayed closed. Now they have health eating at school so crisps are frowned on. I could go on. Really if they are growing and health I would not worry to much.
  3. I'm still here, is anyone else.
  4. So we only have a minuscule risk of -- ye but how big is miniscule??? 8.30 you say. Well do you think its worth making up tomorrow's lunch box...
  5. It in a tunnel that is 17miles long in a big loop on the French Swiss border it took thousands of scientists 30years to build and it gets switched on tomorrow. Well that's what I heard on the radio. But we will be alright cause Stephen Hawkings said so. And Ive got all his books. Good reading, so I am told. Ill leave reading them for a few days, well you never know, be a wast if ...
  6. I don't really try to watch tv when A is around. He doesn't watch much telly but his constant chatter stops you watching. He doesn't seem to notice that someone else is talking and will talk over them. For someone who dose not like noise he can alf make a racket.
  7. We may not have to worry to much about the day after tomorrow, that is if the cynics have got it right. According to some when they switch this Collider thing on to morrow we may all disapier up our own existence. But if it dose go that way we won't blame them will we . Bye for now Chris

    Baby Snails

I don't know what they are called but they are not babies just a variety of very small snails that you don't normally see. I don't think they are much of a fret to your plant, and they will probably be gone by tomorrow. Its all this wet weather. Chris.
  9. Hi PT A lot of parents have a joint account for their children's savings. All you do is go to the bank or building society and tell them that you want it but into the child's name only, job done. Have you looked on Direct gov web site. Look up power of attorney. As I understand it you do not need a solicitor if you know what you are doing to set up a power of attorney, but it would need to go through the courts as ? is not (I presume) able to make a considered judgment about signing. Good luck with it all. Chris

    grrrr

It's the rain. Every ones indoors playing on it. I got to go shopping. Don't want to but if we want to eat --- well you know. TTFN Chris.
  12. Thanks everyone for your help. We will do a bit of thinking about it all, make sure we have all the answers and then sit him down and tell him. That is of course if we can get him to sit still that long. A is 8 by the way. He is on the go all the time, never sits still. But most nights he is in bed by 9, off to sleep as his head hits the pillow and most days its 7am before we see him. So it is not to bad. Always been the same. Thanks. Chris.
  13. My son A was diagnosed with AS about 5 months ago. This is after about 2 years of seeing all sorts of people, going down various roots to find an answer to his problems. The final diagnoses is "High functioning autism spectrum disorder presenting so Aspergers syndrome". If he had not had early developmental problems it would be straightforward "AS". I think what was happening is that his problems were being seen in isolation and to start with no one was looking at things as a whole, we are as guilty of this as anyone else. Anyway he knows that he has problems and accepts them and has always felt apart/different from other children, what I really want help with is how do we tell him that what he has has a name. He is very bright and will probably have no trouble taking it in. To be honest we, his mum and me, are only really now getting to grips with it all our selves. So when, how and how much do we say to him? Chris.
  14. Hi jonathan Sounds like it could be to me but without more background it is hard to say, what does his mum think. I think it would be worth having a word with someone ether from school or they could get in touch with the school nurse maybe for a referral. Chris
  15. Hi there Try your G.P. for a referral. As you may have picked up it can take a long time and there are not to many Serves about for adults. I think you will find there are many of us adult who see our children diagnosed and then realise that we are affected to to some extent. Me for one sees little point in a formal diagnoses other than for peace mind. Good luck. Chris.
  16. Took us about 2 years. Where we like now recons 6 months?? Good luck.
  17. I do get a bit cross with people how say we should not punish the bully because he had a bad start in life. Have they ever been bullied? Yes it can stay with you all your life. We don't say to a mass murderer well you had a unhappy childhood so keep on killing. So why anything else. The first consideration should be the victims of crime, Help the bully yes but protect us all from them.
