  6. Sophie was born 19 days early, she was actually due on my 30th birthday but was three weeks early, and has been awkward ever since!!! She was born by emergency c section because i had been in labour for 28 hours and wasnt progressing any futher, she had a very pointed head when she was born, and didnt feed properly for two days, and also had jaundice. Dont know if any of this is significant. Julie

Its not such a shock really, but it hasnt stopped be crying my eyes out. Julie p.s. she is so calm and quiet at the moment, a complete differenmt child.

They have just rung to say that sophie has wet herself and needs a change of clothes. grrrrrrrr she has TWo sets of spare clothes at school, do they not think of asking her if she has a change. grrrrr On her very first day the teacher said when i told her she has a change of clothes, oh hopefully she wont be needing those grrrrr. They know she has a problem grrrr, And yesterday the deputy head told me that sophie had been taken out of class twice, and actually said to sophie in front of me, you have a choice you come to school tomorrow and behave yourself or you stay at home grrrrrrrrrrr grrrrrrrrrrr, right sorry rant over Julie

Just wondering, my daughter had all her immunisations as a baby/toddler. And i remember on one such occasion when she was a tiny baby, that she seemed to tatally zonk out immediately after she had her injection. You know you have to wait in the waiting room for 15 mins after injections, well i went back into see the doc, because of the way she zonked out straight away. I wonder if this has any bearing on her asd (if diagnosed) Julie
  15. Does anyone else have a child that has wetting problems, sophie is almost 8 and wets 2/3 times a day, we have seen the pedetrician and he just says as she goes sometimes, there is not a medical problem, and that she will grow out of it. Does anyone else have a child with this problem too? Julie
  16. thankyou all for you replies. Ye ssophie would like the visit to sharkeys with her brother and the neighbours two boys. and a trip to the bowling alley with me hubby bro, and prob still her friend, her friend is also my friends little girl, and dthey are in the same class at school. I know you are right its prob justr me worrying about it, and as long as she gets some specail treats she will have a great day. Julie X
  17. this is a difficuly one to explain, sophie will be 8 in 4 weeks time and i want to make her birthday special for her. We are currently in the process of diagnosis, we have been to hospital twice and on the last visit they could see how she was and are now seriously looking into the possibility that she could have aspergers. well my problem is that in the past she had always had birthday parties at a local hall/play centre etc. but as she is now behaving so badly at school, hitting the other kids, and hiding under the tables, she has issolated herslef and has no friends. Its heratbreaking for me to see. i want my daughter to have a wonderful birthday but she has no friends to invite to a party, and we only have my mum living close by no other realtives near. I am going to taker her and her younger brother and our two neighbours children to an indoor play centre, and was going to take her bowling with the one friend she does have, but today she told me that her friend doesnt want to go, maybe the influence of other kids?? I am definately gonna do the playcentre thing, and poss a tea party but its heartbreaking for me this year. just needed to get that off my chest. Julie X
  18. I agree, i only joined this forum yesterday and am already finding lots of help and support. At the end of the day if sophie is diagnosed with aspergers (most likely) i know there wont be a cure and all i am asking is a way to manage it as best as possible. Julie
  19. Are we only allowed to talk shop in here. Or are we allowed to talk about other things as well?? Julie X
  20. Just wondering what is the best book that i can read on gaining information on aspergers, and most importantly how to deal with a child that has it. Julie
  21. Thankyou. Most of what i say will prob not make an ounce of sense, cos i am so fed up at the moment. My life just seems one long round of stress at the moment, and i sometimes need a shoulder to cry on. And someone to understand and help me through these difficult times. Julie
  22. Does anyone else have problems with getting their child to sleep at night. S is taken to bed at 8 and read a story and then I lie with her and sit and read until she falls asleep, this can take up to an hour. I can see no other way out of this situation at the moment. Anyone else have the same problems? Julie
  23. I have just joined this group, and am wondering if there are any other people that live in Dorset. Julie
