I havent heard of them? Do you have a link? I always wanted to get his mobile phone tagged but without him knowing. Just for emergencies! The programs that do it will not do it without the person accepting it so it isnt much help for me :-( I think the police should be able to place it onto someones phone in circumstances like this. He has been gone overnight before, only twice but its terrifying!! I just have to think about the manpower he wastes! Last time he went he ended up sleeping in the train station in Weymouth (we live in Bristol by the way!)

The cards were delivered today & my son is really impressed by it! Some of the ones he's been given in the past arent very flattering as far as he is concerned whereas this one has just enough info :-)

My 15yr old has run away since he was tiny, he does it when he's scared, when he's stressed, when he's angry but he does also do it for no apparent reason whatsoever!! When talking to anyone "official" I have had no useful advice so far. They only seem interested in dealing with the times he runs because of anger & ignore the fact that he just vanishes! Just this evening, he was happily writing a book in his room while I watched Coronation Street. I went up to see him just as it finished & he wasnt there anymore! No arguements, no cross words, no nothing! Has anyone got any idea how I am to avoid this or at least deal with it when it happens? P.S Luckily this time he remembered his mobile & actually answered it so he is now home safe just so you know :-)

Hiya, not sure if anyone has found these guys (www.ucardit.co.uk) before but I just placed an order with them & they seem great! Page for Aspergers card here They have a lot of different types of card but it allows you to personalise yours with a photo of your child and your contact details aswell as theirs. On ours I asked them to change the "Aspergers" to "Asperger Syndrome" and they quite happily obliged. Not sure if anyone else is interested but thought I would mention it anyway Will let you know when the cards arrive (Oh yeah, forgot to mention that 50p from every card in the Bibic range goes to the Bibic charity)

LOL Bless!! My Cat's never bitten anyone or anything, I did have a satanic one once though, he was feral when I got him and wouldnt let anyone get near him. Even as an adult cat he wouldnt go near strangers, hid if anyone knocked on the door! But he was one hell of a Ratter!!! Have to say though, I also have a Dobermann, and he knows his place in the "pack" is beneath the cat whether he's a soft cat or not!

Thanks Enid, It always helps to know you arent on your own! Although we are well past a year and approaching the 2 year mark & i'm exhausted :-( I have the same problem with having a younger child, they are currently assessing him for child protection risks because of my eldest son & I hate it! In their core assessment they have basically given us 6 months to turn things around or they are going to "look for alternative care arrangements" which is infuriating me! I mean, how on earth can anyone guarantee change within 6 months and how is it going to help him to put him with someone else? Surely it will just make him more unhappy!?? Not to mention that they will then be the ones "at risk" instead of me. They will merely be moving the problem and not curing it! I'm going to try and find that book definately!!

Congrats hun!! Cant beleive how fast the time goes! It will be my 4th anniversary next month! When I joined I dont think we even had a diagnosis! He's now been settled in a specialist school for well over 2 years :-) I dont think i'm here nearly enough though! It makes me feel normal coming here lol

I find it really hard not to take it as a personal attack since there is a vast majority of negative comments in the report and pretty much no positive ones. Basing their arguement fully on my parental history, its just not possible in their world for you to have had it difficult and still be a good parent! The Aspergers doesnt cause his behaviours, I do! I'm absolutely sure that there is probably times where I could deal with SOME of his behaviours in a better way, but that doesnt mean I cause them! It feels like being back at square one with these people! Makes you wonder why you go to all that trouble to get a diagnosis in the first place if theres nothing wrong with him but me even after all that

Well the first ones I was offered werent..... I refused to attend those & told them that if they find me one thats specific for children like mine then I would gladly attend. They have found one locally but it seems to be for younger children so they are still trying to find one. This is an example of how they are twisting things though. In their core assessment it states that I refused to attend a parenting class etc etc but nowhere did it state why & that I wanted one specific to him. Its like their whole purpose is to make me look bad!

I have no idea what training they have but I know that it is SS from the Child health and disability (CHAD) team so you would hope that they had some training!

The problem isnt that they wont help, its that they have decided that the way to help is to get ME counselling for MY childhood, and to get ME help with parenting classes and to criticise me constantly for "not accepting that I have an input on the way he behaves" whereas it isnt that I feel that I dont impact on him at all, its that I dont beleive for one minute that I have caused ALL his behaviour difficulties!! They seem to think they can write anything they want in their core assessments as long as they write "my feeling is" or "it is possible that" in the beginning of the sentence!!!

As with most people on here I struggled with the LEA and health for a lot of years to get a diagnosis for my son (now 15) Over those years the NHS Psych's did their usual nonsense of blaming the parents for the childs behaviour (regardless of anything else he's ever been through!) After fighting for 6 years, getting 4 seperate private diagnosis all backing each other and he's been in a special school for children with Aspergers successfully for more than 2 years which is longer than hes ever stayed in any school his whole life....You would think that people would start to realise that it wasnt me after all? ...... NO!! He started being violent at home 2 weeks before his 14th birthday and things have gone downhill from there......We went though a lot over the last few months of last year & first few months of this one as we were made homeless by racist neighbors. His behaviour has just gone further and further downhill. I asked social services for some help as I was finding him impossible to cope with when he "lost it" Now....once again!!! All the old reports have come back to bite me in the butt!!!! And apparently its all my fault he behaves the way he does!!! I'm going to scream!!!! Has anyone else had this sort of thing and what can be done about it?

Does anyone know of a helpline for domestic violence but not from a partner, from your teenage satanic child??? I am 5'1 and my son is now a very powerful 6ft child!! I have definately come to the end of my tether of asking for help from social services and the police and need another route to go down. Any advice appreciated!!!

Well done!! I gave up smoking about 11-12 years ago now & feel so much better for it! Not sure how I ever could of afforded it!!!!

I used to think that, then I went to see Britains Got Talent being filmed and he got on stage with some guys and did Air Guitar all the way through it. I so hope that show that when it comes on TV next month, had me in stitches!!! I have to say that my pet hate is...."PEOPLE" I'm non discrimanotory, I just hate them all Muhahahaha!!! Nah seriously though, I seem to just hate something about most people I cross paths with. Not friends or anything just your everyday public. Bumping into you then having a go at you for getting in the way Driving straight across a crossing Driving past you when you stop on a crossing Stopping in traffic across a crossing Chatting while working on a till and you are queuing for ages to get served GRRRRRRR Not speaking to you while taking your money on a till Pulling out on you Even down to people that know you arent "very well" keep calling asking you if you are oki when they already know you arent! Just shut up and do something or go away!!! Ooooooooh I'm soooooo moody LOL Ahhh I forgot this one! When a company calls you up and wont talk to you until you have given this COMPLETE STRANGER your full name, address and mothers maiden name to get YOU through security even though they know you are YOU because they called YOU and you have no idea who on earth they are!!! I just tell them in the interests of data protection i'm not giving them anything and they'll have to write LOL

Its been a long long time! I been busy trying to find excuses not to talk to people.....sound stupid? Yea I know!! I've been having a lot of problems with Cameron aswell as problems that are nothing to do with him. Its has gotten to the stage now where I am really unwell and I am trying to sort myself out. My first port of call is to try getting back to doing the things I used to do before it all went so badly wrong....Including chatting to you guys! Its odd that you seem to stop everything that makes you feel better as you start to feel worse!! Anyway....i'm back!!!!! Hi to everyone who already knew me and to everyone that doesnt know who on earth I am lol
