    help!!

I'm very confused...my nearly 4 year old son was referred to a 'specialist' by his health visitor after the playgroup said they were concerned about his unusual behaviour. He was seen by a doctor XXXXX on the 3rd of march and he agreed with me that it was likely A.D. had asperger's syndrome. He told me that he would refer him to the five autistic spectrum team so he could see the ot etc.On Monday he was seen by a peadiatrician who asked some questions about A.D. and said in his opinion it's not asperger's as he's such a good talker and he likes to play with his siblings and he's very intelligent for his age. He's writing to the playgroup to ask for their assessment so he can try to determine exactly what it is that he has,he definately has something but what?My head is all over the place and i was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and if my son could have asperger's even though the peadiatrician thinks otherwise. Please advise me as I really need some advise.Thanx
  15. i was diagnosed with hypothyroidism(underactive)when my eldest was about a year old(she's now 18)...i had no periods, very bad mood swings, feeling cold, course hair and skin, also leaking nipples!!i'm now on 175mcg of thyroxine daily and apart from blood tests every year i'm pretty much healthy(apart from a bad back, ibs and the stress of looking after 4 kids, the youngest with asperger's).my advise 2 you is 2 go and see ur gp,u need 2 b healthy for ur kids sake.xx
  16. i'm having the same problem getting my 3 & a half year old 2 playgroup,it seems 2 b getting worse!! i ended up phoning my mum in tears this morning after he eventually went in.it helps 2 hav sum1 else 2 talk 2 that can listen & help u understand that its not ur fault its just the way they r!!!keep ur chin up ur doing great!! <'>
  17. hi bjkmummy,i'm new 2 this so this is my first attempt at saying sumthing...my 3 & a half year old son was seen by a 'specialist' on friday & diagnosed asperger's....he was asked 2 go up & down a couple of stairs, jump, hop, touch the doctor's finger then his own nose numerous times, kick a ball,run...just quite basic things 2 let the doctor see how well his physical ability is....this as well as a detailed account of his strengths & weaknesses since birth were all he needed 2 agree with my theory that my son has asperger's...please feel free 2 ask any questions
