  1. j was picking bits up at school but as he has a great interest in anything science it was easier for us we gave him a book on the whole thing (he was about 8). But told him if he had any questions to ask. We are also very open when the younger ones ask how babies are made. If your embarressed he is going to be too

     

    if he says something wrong correct him but i dont think it should be a mum/dad divide just cause hes a boy there are some really good books for kids.

     

    my mum and dad were very hush hush about sex and i learnt everything in the playground (mostly wrong) so thats why im open with my kids. But it depends on how much you think he would understand


  2. my lad 11 yr6 is doing a social skills thing at the moment about him !!! as he is the only kid in the school that has asd.he has a major problem with mingling with kids his own age. The out reacher bloke took the rest of his class off and gave them a talk on being "nice" to him last week and his was involved in footy on the playground which isnt his strong point. We had a major meltdown when one kid tackled him so bad he bruised his shoulder. This week he has had enough of everyone wanting to be his friend. I can honestly count on less than one hand how many kids in his class havent bullied him at some point and now they want them all to be friends. He just doesn't get why all of a sudden bullies want to be his friend!! :tearful:

     

     

    oh and ive had no feed back from this as the school aint talking to me :devil:


  3. its funny you say this because i often find myself deleting stuff i have written as i cant seem to get across what im trying to say i also would be really upset incase i offended someone as i find when i type i can be quite blunt without meaning to be. Im sure you will often see my posts are edited as i just cant get the right words out :rolleyes:

     

     

    thats me to a tee!!!! also i look a right nasty/hard person at times too and im not honestly :whistle:

    i post on another forum not as/asd related and some of the things i put about us as a family look really weird lol so i dont post on it about j as others dont understand about living with someone with asd if that makes sense :rolleyes: i just cant seem to get out in as least words as possible what im trying to say

  4. thanks everyone. I did the comb thing and convinced j that there was none, which was really hard as puss is not the most sociable cat :rolleyes: .

     

    I have to ring snobby sectary tomorrow to ask when js iep meeting is as they postponed it until the snt came in to school which he did today. J was taken out of his class (6) and put in yr 3/4 for the afternoon dont know what the snt was doing with his class but i have the feeling it might be about talking to the others about people with learning problems as he did mention he was going to do this, but i thought he was going to have j in there so he didn't feel excluded.

     

    but on the plus side he came home buzzing and really calm and said he really enjoyed his afternoon which really strengthens my views on sending him to the sn school as he had no pressure and all the kids are sort of at the same stage educationally as him. :thumbs:


  5. j told dh on the tuesday before they broke up that his senco/teacher had told him his heat bumps might be flea bites or bed bug bites. :wallbash:

    J over heats really easily and because he has to wear elasticated trackys for school he gets a heat rash and then scratches and picks till it bleeds and they can last months. (senco said put a plaster on it :lol: like hes not gonna pick that off its an anxiety thing silly man )

    J doesnt understand "might" and although i have told senco this instead of asking me he asks him. Sooooooooo we have had a whole week of wash my bed can you check it for bugs, change the cats collar and " mr ****** said flea collars dont work!!!!!"

     

    I feel like the most terrible mum out of course my cat doesnt have fleas, js bed is hoovered once a fortnight and his sheets are washed more than twice a week as he wets the bed but :tearful::crying:

    and the fact my other 2 dont have any bites

    If hes doing this to bully me into not kicking up that j should go to a sn school its not gonna work all he is going to get is me is more determined and the fact i have just learned that the nearest asd unit (attached to a mainstream seniors) my mates lad goes to hes been there 8 months and never set foot inside the actually unit (classroom). :o

  7. My mum and dad live 15 minutes away (in a car) and i haven't seen my dad since april. I used to get really annoyed cause they come and see my aunt in the same town as me every weekend but if they dont want to come and see me and my kids ###### em lol their loss not mine i have my kids every special day :thumbs:

  8. since j was born hes got up at 4 am and this was the main reason we went to cafs and cafs gave up (useless) we have now got it to 4.30. The school are moaning at me cause i put him bed at 6pm but he goes to sleep at 7 pm they say its to early to put a 10 year old to bed. I have tried keeping him up till 9-10pm but ................ he still gets up at 4.30am and this wasn't a couple of nights it was 9 tiring months and he was exhausted after school and just wanted to go to bed.

    he just has an built in alarm clock!!!


  9. trans form has been received by lea. they rang me to tell me i HAD to put a mainstream school on the list or if he doesn't get statemented he will be put in any school ummmm no he wont.

    Rang senco yesterday to ask him if he had requested assessment and i got the sectary being all snotty with me cause she sat a her desk with a corded phone and told me she couldn't see him and i said no i wouldn't be able to if i was sat in your office and she hung up on me ( why does my mouth run away :whistle: ) :rolleyes:


  10. Crikey if I knew that's all I had to do - to take my ds to SENCO for a diagnosis what on earth have I been doing all this time :unsure:

     

     

    ill give you his name and school if you like? he was the one that also told me between cahms diagnosis to me verbally ,and him getting the written one that " i can assure you j shows no autistic traits here" sarcastically and made me :tearful: :tearful: even though thats what js dr told me to say. :whistle: and now at every possible moment with professionals he cant stop saying asd or asd traits (wtf are them either he is or he isnt) lol and now he has aspergers in his head


  11. i no i no im a pain

    tonight at parents evening senco suddenly said that jordan has aspergers!!!

    now from what ive read up about the 2 asd kids have developmental delays early on and dont have all the self help skills is this right can someone enlighten me as im easily confused lol :tearful:

     

    btw his diagnosis from cahms was asd and he had language therapy at 3 and has no self help skills whatever


  12. thanks everyone you are stars >:D<<'> >:D< all done photocopied 5 yes 5 times so i cant lose copies :whistle: . Transition form in envelope and also copied ready to send to the school admissions team. :thumbs: .

    i will give it to him tonight at parents evening so i know he has it in his hand and cant wriggle out of it

  13. this is where i fear my lad will be in few years if not months time and is one of the reasons im preparing to fight to get him in to a sn school. socially and emotionally he is very immature and when our local secondary school come out ( their exit is on our schools land) he stiffens and shakes he puts a brave face on it but you can see and feel him stiffen. Not saying sn school will stop this altogether but will reassure him hopefully that just cause they are older they are going to hurt him and prepare him for this i personally feel that the leas idea of dumping him into a 1000+ school is going to "cure" him is utter tosh.

  15. Its such a pain isnt it.

     

    Do it in rough first - work out a point for each paragraph.

    Take a little break after each paragraph.

    Do your final draft.

    Leave it 24 hours & have a look at it.

    Make any alterations.

    Then show it someone you trust to see if they spot anything you havent.

    Alter if necessary.

    Then send it.

    Then have one of these :wine: (After, not before!) :lol:

  16. lol im trying (being the operative word :rolleyes: ) to write a letter to senco on why j should go to the sn school and not the school they want him to go too just cause its the feeder school. But my mind keeps going blank have loads of notes but trying to take out the i and we is soooo hard :rolleyes: doesnt help i suppose when you have an attention problem yourself lol
