hi linny i live in a village and my tristan goes to a neighbouring village school i too am excluded from the clicky( i know theres a posh way to spell it but cant remember) groups of mums fortunatlytricky has a few really good friends that look after him and i remember tricky being invited to a very popular girls leaving do all the other mums were DISGUSTED! cos their children wern't very satisfying indeed! but at the end of the day who really wants to be part of their gang anyway? these women are obviously to shallow and self centred to be worth hanging around with anyway!

hiya!
i dont think that i could call it massage but when tricky is going into meltdown,(if i catch him early enough!)
i can calm him by rubbing his back! he loves it, it relaxing him like a purring kitten! mind you he wouldnt stand for having his head or any other part of his body touched in any way but now he is started to get the jist of it and will say to me "rub back mummy im feeling jigglywirey!" of course it doesnt stop all of his melting moments but just one less a day makes me a happy parent!

sorry its taken me a while to reply but forgot about this topic.
I am really reserved about trying the diet, as most days he is eating the most wierd things! not only that the sheer cost of alternatives scares me half to death!

I agree with what seems to be the general consensus, that asd is likely to be a genetic/birth thing.
I was two weeks over, my labour lasted 28hours, after 6 hrs my waters were broken (after being induced) when it was discovered that tricky had "pooed" inside me the labour ending with two failed attempts at ventouse, resulting in forceps.
the poor little mite was on and off distressed during labour and had to be intubated as he ingested his meconium.
My brother has as he also had a difficult birth

Did your little one go through "withdrawals" when his/her diet was changed?
i have been considering giving it a go with my son, but even giving him a g/f day left him literally eating the walls!
apparently he was after the wallpaper paste! (flour-based)If this is just a small taste of whats to come how long does it last?

i find lavender products invaluable when tristan has had a bad day, i give him a bath with lavender scented bubble bath, not actually wanting to advertise but radox do a good one! and a few drops of oil on his pillow and he sleeps like a log ( and wakes up in the fireplace! lol )
