Well the physch finally rang back and we now have an app for 28th of sept, also got a date through today for our appeal for DLA, very nervous for hubby as he might have to go alone as i might be out of action he is dreading it, sometime in sept i should be having some ops for a TV programme i am going on, wey hey tummy tuck at last!!!!! Would anyone know what process a 12 year old would go through to get a firm diagnosis for aspergers. School treat my stepson as if he has it, as from what we have told them, they think he has it, as does the educational physch, but the normal physch we have seen now and again in the past has tried to steer us away from getting a diagnosis for him, he is useless. We were at the end of our tether yesterday over something, rang and asked for them to get him to ring us, and he still hasnt rang today, this is the same physch who was invited to attend the senco meeting which we have every 3 months at school, he didnt turn up, so we are considering writing and asking to be seen again, this was the advice of the health visitor for my 3 year old, she tried to help, but said he wasnt her responsibility age wise, and rang to let me know that i could also ring the school nurse when the kids go back in sept. Also has anyones older kids experimented with sex, well not the whole thing, but touching ect, my stepson did this a good few months back and cant get it out of his head, he knew he had done wrong, confessed all, was appalled by himself, but still keeps going on about if the girl (my daughter 10 at the time) is pregnant, we have explained that because he didnt do certain things theres no way she can be, and she has had x amount of periods, ect ect, but he still worries, and thinks he will go to jail, this was one reason why we needed to chat to someone asap, for his own sanity, but i think the thought of us telling someone else has done the trick, as he seems to be eating again, and not mentioned it for the last couple of days!!!! Oh boy had a tough day today to, with his attitude, because we had to go out, he did everything to be awkward ect, very tired, mentally drained today. Michelle

The poor man is distraught, his only friend is now leaving the BB house. How will he cope, my hubby keeps saying he reminds him so much of his son, my stepson chris, especially round the eyes, when he looks terrified. I hope he copes, and the rest of the house are kind to him!!!! awww and when he was discussing not haveing a relationship with girls!!!! Michelle

I rang the family fund the other day to check they had got the application and was told it could take 12 weeks even though its not a first application, they have a huge backlog!!!! Michelle

Yes, C has always been loud in volume, even more so if telling us a tale or excited!!!!! Michelle

Yes we to were turned down on what the school had said, but they got a report from someone he has nothing to do with, they didnt get in touch with the senco from school or his ed physch, we have gone straight to appeal so we can state our case and take other reports which we now have with us, its a long process and hopefully for us it will have been worth it. give it a go, thats all you can do. michelle

I joined this site, but from another site i go on, and this chap is guenuine, ebay do have a community you click on that and there are loads of groups, although i dont have much time to go on as i dont with this site, it might be nice for some of you to offer some valued advice to those already on there, i have always worried when clicking anything for ebay, but honestly this one is ok!!! He is visiting his mum for 10 days, he saw her for 4 days at xmas, then 2 weeks last summer, although he often hates us with a passion he still hates to leave us and go to see his mum, also the understanding of his mum hasnt sunk in yet, ie she isnt that bothered about him, but he sings her praises so very much!!! But he still cries when he has to go see her!!!!! Also it doesnt help that he accidently slogged our 3 year old on saturday with a cricket bat, it really wasnt his fault kieran just sprang out in front of him, so we had a very very upset boy thinking he had killed his little brother, he did managed to break his nose, 2 black eyes, very very bad swelling, but when he heard the nose was broken from the Dr he was distraught, saying what have i done, what have i done, we had gone on hols on friday, this happened saturday, we had to cut short the holiday on sunday, so that didnt go down well, but he really understood that kierans health mattered more, i was so proud of how he coped, although very very upset he did cope much better than he normally would have. So now i must go, as he is a little tearful at present. Michelle

Karin we didnt get DLA for chris when we applied to the family fund last year, but we got it, still havnt heard for this year as yet, but i did put on the form that we are appealling for DLA, so that may be a reason why we havnt heard yet!!! michelle

the ones which get to me and mu husband about my stepson are from kids and they are 1-why is he doing that 2-whats wrong with him 3-he is wierd Also school, 1-we have no problems here, he is a little darling 2-C has a problem with his homework, and forgets things, err, no problems then From physchologist 1-He is jealous 2-He is trying to get your attention (###### he gets more than any of the other kids) 3-I wont assess him as i dont want him to feel different...but he is different Michelle

Candy, yes i am pretty sure i quoted the reference number, hopefully we will get enough to at least help towards a holiday, anything is better than nothing!!!! Michelle

Although we are struggling with our DLA claim for the second time around we got a grant from family fund last year, they took a while to get back to us, but they visited and although no diagnosis for Chris we got it, so i have just sent off the form for this year, anyone know how long they reply to applications that arnt you first??? We are desperate for a holiday with just Chris and the little one while my 3 go with their dad, to give Chris some good quality time with us, and not other kids to feel he has to compete with. Well done, we are currently waiting for a date for our oral appeal, what a fight this has been!!!! We gave up last time, 2 years ago, didnt appeal, but not this time, we deserve and and will fight for it!!!! Michelle

Well it arrived today letting us know they have received the appeal letter, and we have to state whether we want a written or oral appeal, well we want oral. There isnt any wonder it has been turned down though, they havnt got in touch with ed physch or senco, who we ask them to get in touch with, they did send out a form to school, but head of year filled it in, not mentioning he is on school action, or under an ed physch or anything, simply putting that he is ok in everything, and not a danger on roads ect ect. One question made us laugh, it asked if he took meds, they ticked NO, then the next Q asked, can her take them by himself, they ticked YES, how do they know this if he doesnt take them LOL then there was another one, cant remember what it was, but same again, they couldnt have known the answer. So we are ringing both senco and ed physch to ask them to write a report so we can take it with us when we go. Any advice for when we do get a appt would be appreciated, also does anyone elses child actually behave and act ok in school (C is ok, apart from forgetful, and often quiet), but see lots of problems at home as we do often wonder if its just us!!!! Yes, here to we have all the anxiety, and an 11 year old who often asks if he can have some pills, he really needs some as he is depressed!!!! anxieties are usually in our minds silly things, in his not in the slightest silly, we just try to reassure him things will be fine, or we do tell him, like yesterday the truth, with our cat, who is with the vet, and her chances look slim, he is worrying so very much about this at the minute, he worries over the car, if it might break down, what if what if, you know the senario!!!! Chris fears wasps, water(swimming), slides, a fear of leaving his dad. Obcessions have ranged from hearing noises under his bed, a goes on about a trekking expedition which he truly thinks he is going to do, he is getting 8 horses for us all to go trekking on to barnsley, to his nans, we will camp out ect ect, leave the horses, go to nans, then trek homeagain, although i may have got some details wrong, but the amount of time he talks about it i should really know shouldnt i!!! He is obcessed with asking if everything on TV is LIVE!!!! Went though an obcession of saying the same thing at the same spot on the way to school, it was "do i have to go to school" LOL, but always at the same spot, exact same words. Cant think of any more at the minute. Michelle
