been on net quite alot recently reading up on dyspraxia lots of similar symptems to asd found alot of it fit my daughter especially when she was young now shes in her teens the aggression and frustration also fits with dyspraxia maybe clutching at straws but sometimes wonder if it is asd after all anyone else felt like this or any info on dyspraxia thanks all Tracey

hi hev Ive put alot of thought into this one have been told so many times that my daughter is like it at home as its where she feels safe but it makes me wonder sometimes i feel she hasnt got asd at all but just suffers from stress like her mum only over the years i have got slightly carmer I also wonder if i wind her up sometimes although at times i cant seem to win if i ignore its wrong if i intervine that doesnt seem to help its heart breaking too think you cant calm them down sorry not much help but thought id say how it is for me Tracey

I have posted on here before on this subject I just dont know what to do for the best for my daughter shes 15 has been out of school since march last year as she hates it and has lots of probs there with peers and work issues at the min im teaching her best i can and when shell comform at home no help from anywhere else as thats like banging my head against a wall have tried docs lea can only get private tuition which is an option if she does not go back she would like to change schools and we are waiting for a place to come up there Myu problem is whether to try or not for statement school think its not worth it as she doesnt really need extra help iep from ppartnership doesnt think illcget one especially as shes not in school although im hoping to get her back in for 2 hours 3 days a week byut not holding my breath cahms actually think a statement may help when she leaves school for funding etc also was told could take 12 months shell be 16 then any help would be appriaciated thanks tracey

Thanks for all replies its all abit daunting at the minuite as i wouldnt class myself as teacher material atleast if eduction otherwise are there for back up that will help especially if they organise days out still going to keep on at them for home tuition though I think my daughter should be entitled to this Tracey

at my our last meeting with school had a lady round from parent partnership really for support she told me if I couldnt get my daughter back to school to contact education otherwise for help on home ed was under impression they could help with tuition but after speaking with a lady from there helpline it seems each parent educates there own child with online support from other parents doing the same am thinking this is the only way to teach my child as I cannot get her back to school and dont seem to be getting anywhere with home tuition on medical grounds either doctor a cahms wont help or tuition is now done at hospital school difficult if your child wont leave the house any help or advice greatly appreciated as im at my wits end and my daughter isnt learning much at all Thanks Tracey

hi kathryn thanks for pm still mulling over medication i think it will help she wont go on it cause of side effects am phoning cahms tomorrow reg outreach team prob dont do this at our cahms there does seem to be more down south have a few more numbers to try in case also am going to try and get some kind of therapy someone who is prepared to visit us Tracey

hi kathryn have jotted down adolescent outreach team and im going to look into it asap as there is no help from cahms when you were going through similar issues with your daughter was she put on meds if so did anything help my daughters main probs are being obbsessive adout looks make up must be perfect hair clothes the same otherwise its blow out thanks tracey

Hi mel no cahms dont seem to offer anything am going to phone monday to try and get some therapy thing is its getting someone to come to the house as getting out is becoming more of a problem im a lone parent and dont drive so its not asif i can just getting about is easy anyway also she may benefit from some med but its finding one without severe side effects which will make going out more of a problem everythings getting really bad at the minuite and its making me feel really down seeing her like this wish i could help or just take it all away Tracey

desperatly trying to get some help for my daughter shes 15 and we see lady from cahms who doesnt seem to know what help we need cahms doctor who we see on days she will go out (not many as she has to look perfect before going out or we have an eruption) he offers no real help only risperdone which i mentioned in previous post side effects would make matters worse as weight is already a big thing to her last night typical 2 hours of getting ready while shouting abuse at me throwing things after all that didnt go as things went wrong went to bed got up 2 hours later went out with me spent all time in panic saying everyone looking laughing at her came home Today stressed trashed house shouting ended after an hour was sobbing she needs help doesnt go out not in school (9mths) either in rage or sobbing (emotions very mixed up) am at my wits end getting no help at all gp no understanding of asd nurse putting her on pill to try balance hormones as pms is a biggy too any advice Tracey

Thanks all for replies although it sounds a helpful medication for us the side effects by the sound of it would cause additional problems (not wor th it) wonder if theres a similar med without the extreem side effects will keep looking Tracey

Just been reading all posts on this med spoke about this with doctor and it seems the best med for aggression and anxiety unfortuanetly when I read about possible side effects facial twitching weight gain etc I had to think wouldnt this make matters worse any views on thie med and side effects thanks Tracey

Hi My daughter is nearly 15 been off school 9 mnths hopeing to get her back part time nx school meeting she does not have statement as senco does not think it will help can she be statemented when not in school???? if so where do I start? worried I may not get her back to school then imback to square one Also am not getting any home ed wonder if getting statement will help any advice appriciated Tracey

think you may be right school are abit one track all they want is her back in school never mind difficulties always gone through EWO regarding home tuition whom I am now finding isnt as understanding in school meeting with staff around as she is in my home, should I go through another channel regarding home tuition??? will also mention statementing at meeting as it could help after school is through thanks Tracey

back in april was told by EWO for home tutoring had to get letter from cahms doctor stating not in school due to medical reasons did this sent it to ED welfare who sent round lady from hosp school was told they are now trying to get kids who were not attending school to go there so that they are not isolated being taught at home I could understand this but she went once and did not return sometimes it is difficult for her to leave house which is why home tutoring is only option Tracey

my daughter has been out of school since march in that time I would have liked some home education for her although I have tried the best I got was the hospital school which I was informed is what is now on offer instead of home tutoring she is not statemented as senco did not think it would benifit now I think I should have gone ahead anyway, at nearly 15 am now being told its too late especially as shes not attending school nx school meeting is 13 dec and hopefully we can get her back if not there doesnt seem to be anything as she only did 1 morning in hospital school and was worried too go back(july) Does anyone else find they are trying too faze out home tutoring ??? PALS have just rang again not much they can offer gave me NA helpline no as there may be some therapy sessions we could get through them I do have a connections worker who is visiting me nx week so hopefully some good will come of that Tracey

PALS have just been intouch they are going to see if they can find out if theres any help outthere basically my daughter is 15 been out of school since march due to problems there wont always leave the house as everything has to be perfect can be quite obbsessive I think she needs help dealing with emotions can be quite aggressive at times we are dealing with cahms but they dont seem to be much help doctor there says risperadone may help but side effects can be facial twitches and weight gain which would only add too problems I am really looking into whatever help there is which would benifit my daughter Tracey

Hi All thanks for replies am going to look into this The next school meeting is going to be in my home as it is difficult to get my daughter to attend meetings in school I think what their going to propose is too stagger her gradually back into school will be difficult as she has been out since march Tracey

HI seem to be going through bad week rubbish meeting at cahms with psychiatrist followed by school meeting from hell I am a single parent so go to these meetings on my own and wondered if it may help to take someone with me such as a professional i.e if I contact education advice line there may be someone who can help any ideas tracey

Hi purplegail My daughter is also 14 and I have had similar problems with her PMS is also a major thing and at that time little things can really work her up I also have a younger son who in the past has taken alot from her I must admit now he is older 11 he wont take it from her anymore and will fight back which is sort of a diterant I mainly get verbal at the moment but there was a time when she took her temper out on me. since my daughter has been taken out of school things have improved I think she brought alot of stress home with her when she starts a new school nx term the problems could return but im hoping we can sort school probs out as they come up instead of her bottleing things up Iam thinking about herbal remadies for pmt but most things omega 3 and eye Q have not helped am going to see whats on the market or speak to the nurse.
