Canopus Report post Posted January 13, 2007 I'm compiling a list of all AS and ASD support groups nationwide for my website. If you attend or know of a support group locally then PM me about it.
baddad Report post Posted January 13, 2007 Hi canopus... sounds like a good idea... Didn't know you had a site up and running, or is it under construction? The only AS group running in my area is sort of hanging by a thread at the mo, so can't help there... there are a couple of 'general' support groups for ADHD, but nothing AS specific...... I THINK the NAS have a national list on their site, so you could probably start with that then if others here know of different ones you can add them as they come in(?) Bagpuss Report post Posted January 13, 2007 Hi Canopus, I attend two locally, attended mainly by parents and children on the spectrum. If they may be of benefit for your website let me know, and I'll PM you details. Take care.
spectrumlady Report post Posted January 13, 2007 I run two specialist clubs for adolescents and adults with Asperger or HFA in Buckinghamshire. I was registered as a charity last year. I started the first club 4 years ago. We have approx 30 youngsters every fortnight. My website is www.autismbucks.co.uk. Everyone says it's a great atmosphere and is very calm. Social skills are demonstrated "through" whatever acitivity they are doing, (there are lots !!) The Spectrum clubs are well known in the South and have referrals from all service providers. Visiting parents and professionals are always welcome to come and have a look, and there's even free coffee and bics !!!

mummy Report post Posted April 22, 2007 Sorry don't know how to PM on this forum. There is a support group in Norwich. It used to be Asperger Norfolk but I think it's changed it's name. Soprry can't be more help than that. If you google Asperger Norwich you should get more info
