Any Good Social Skills Books?

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I'm organising a social skills group for children and adolecents with a dx of AS with the local camhs team - and wanted some books on social skills.

Anything with printables, good, clear instructions would be fab.

Anyone got a goodie??

I've found some that look quite good ;

Social Skills Training for Children and Adolescents with Asperger Syndrome and Social-Communications Problems

&

Socially Speaking: Pragmatic Social Skills Programme for Pupils with Mild to Moderate Learning Disabilities - Alison Schroeder

(obviously, if they are completely pants - PM me!! The mods will shoot me otherwise.....:D )

:)

Can I come? I do a very good imitation of a child   I got asked for ID to prove I was 16 two days ago. I confused the cashier by saying that I was 75% older than their required age ...:oops:

Sorry, no help with the books :)

What it is to be a woman-in-demand huh!

I have the JKP one: Social Skills Groups for Children and Adolescents with Asperger Syndrome (a step-by-step program)

Looks like good reading...... I just keep running out of time, so I'll happily chuck it in your direction! That should keep you out of mischief for a while. ;)

Nikki.

You could have a look here.

The one I've already read is:

Freaks, Geeks & Asperger Syndrome - A User Guide to Adolescence

by Luke Jackson (2002) published by Jessica Kingsley Publishers, ISBN 1 843 10 098 3

I found it's a good read.
