hedders Report post Posted October 2, 2008 DD is in yr 3 all the children had an non-verbal assessment done, the teacher says this was the reason dd was put on an intervention programme. DD scored 85 the average is 100 so been told. I dont know anything about scoring process??? Is her score o.k Her language assessments for language skills were always above average by slt team. apart from sentence formation and word meaning- moderate delay. Is this the same which psychologists preform, i can remember there is link between non-verbal skills and ASD. Had a good parents evening with class teacher, she was horrified what we been through in the primary school and said they were breaking the law which explained why we had not signed any of her SEN forms as she showed them to us. Also we should of been informed that she has been on school action since reception yr. Anyway class teacher said she will organise a new IEP which will have our imput. and done correctly this time. Can she be on school action plus if the only external professional involved is a peadtrician ?? As previous school got the slt team and ot to discharge her. Zosmum Report post Posted October 2, 2008 Hi hedders I think to go onto school action plus your DD must have been on school action for a certain length of time and not made adequate progress and I think it's down to the school to move them onto school action plus You will have to check this out with someone who knows more than me You can also ask school to get ed psych, slt etc involved Hope everything works out for you
chris54 Report post Posted October 2, 2008 A child will go on to SA+ if it is felt that they are not making satisfactory progress under SA. This is in consultation with the parents. With School Action Plus the SENCO will call in outside specialist help dependant on the child's needs.
