what to do?

Recommended Posts

OK, so part of our direct payments is for a babysitter/carer to come in once a fortnght and let me & hubby go out and have some quality time.

the problem is, its been so long since we had time to ourselves, we've forgotten what to!!!

does anyone have some good ideas of what we can do with 3 hours or so, that won't cost a fortune? neither of us drink, so pubs just annoy me cos they charge so much!

have been to the cinema a couple of times which was good - but off the cards till Sept as the baby is with us atm (carer is great with ASD but not with small babies lol)

Its nice weather so how about something like going for a walk by a lake or canal? Even an evening picnic for 2. Also maybe get a cheap hotel room, sounds sleazy but you can pretend to be strangers......use your imagination.

No, seriously, all of above sound really good ideas... the hotel might be a bit expensive though (unless you find one that rents by the hour), but there are other options if you have country walks and riverbanks etc  I'd also suggest, if you have some nice not-to-expensive eateries nearby, going out for a cosy meal. Pub restaurants can be very good value, and offer some of the attractions of pubs without it just being 'going out for a drink. Did you have any interests before the littlies come along you can rekindle (besides pubs, dining out, cinema and the other diversions suggested above) - or you could go way out on a limb and sign up for ballroom dancing or something: it's all the rage you know! Don't be too quick to 'fill' the time - get used to having it first.
