Pro and Cons of Special or Independent school for HFA child

Lokks like the LEA are backing out of tribunal - hence indicating that they might be considering a special school. However as DC is high functioning - we are not sure that is a suitable placement. we rather prefer a small independent school with specialist support.

Issues we have

1. role models

2. Diverse curriculum etc

 

Anyone have any views on this please - are we thinking right.

I recently posted on the same topic,under education titled "is it all about academic ability" I found everyones views very interesting.Best bet would be to see the school they are suggesting you don't have to agree to it and you can find a school in the meantime that may be better suited,from my experience best to go so all the schools now than to wait.Then you tell them what you want and why,you will have to back everything up.
