special_music Report post Posted April 18, 2011 (edited) Hi All, I'm a Special Music therapist in the North East and I mostly work with children who have ASD. I'm also a registered SEN teacher and worked in state special schools before deciding to devote myself solely to music therapy. I have joined to learn and listen to others - and also to give support if I can. Edited April 21, 2011 by Tally

Goldenben Report post Posted April 19, 2011 Hello and welcome, i'm interested in music therapy myself. I've recently gone gluten free and also combining vitamin b6/magnesium and am starting to listen to music for brain waves specifically. Is there any type of music you would suggest in particular? special_music Report post Posted April 20, 2011 (edited) Is there any type of music you would suggest in particular? Hi. I don't use receptive music therapy (=listening to music) in my work. My work involves making music in order to achieve certain targets (communication, social skills, frustration management etc.) which are drawn up after a 4-session assessment. I only use live music in my work - music that I create together with my client. Hope this helps. Edited April 21, 2011 by Tally
