michele Report post Posted June 29, 2005 I have just read through my sons proposed statement and my head is spinning a bit. The ed psyc and specialist teacher have recommened the A "may benefit from access to some of the TEACCH approach strategies", I think this is due to his very high visual recall skills. Has anyone had any experience of this approach? and what kind of things does it involve? Thanks, from a very confused Mum
baddad Report post Posted June 29, 2005 Hi Michelle - Here's a link to the TEACHH website (nicked from our 'Jargon Buster' section so if it doesn't work blame YODA!) teacch The programme has some very useful stuff; but make sure the school only take what's appropriate - there's a tendency to say "this is how to do it" (and then blame the child if it doesn't work!), rather than to say "This might be useful"... Hectorshouse Report post Posted June 30, 2005 just a note of caution, beware the wording 'access' as this is non-specific, it could mean that he has access one a week, year, millenium etc ... you need to get this clarified, who is going to supply this, where is it going to happen, and how often, if not you'd be surprised how they might wriggle out of it ... 'access' is a weasel word!
