matzoball Report post Posted September 29, 2012 So there are rumours flying about the autistic community right now - thought it best to say something. Specialisterne Scotland ceased trading Friday 21st September 2012 due to adverse conditions in the market. All employees autistic and neurotypical alike were made redundant. Nothing I can really add to that, but that's the long and the short of it.
trekster Report post Posted September 29, 2012 Thanks for letting us know but im a bit confused, i thought only autistics were employed there? (off list reply if you prefer).
matzoball Report post Posted September 29, 2012 They employed neurotypical and people on the spectrum - they were in senior positions, but that would have changed if we hadn't went out of business. Just didn't get the chance to progress! I'm totally gutted, but i have to take away all the good things it did for me and not the difficult times I had there. Just petrified about going back to the job centre!
