jomica Report post Posted January 7, 2006 I've just seen the following on "Governornet", the DfES site for governors, and thought you might be inteested: Supporting children with disabilities From 16 January 2006, ParentsCentre will be showing an interview with Mark Robertson, National Advice & Information Manager at Contact a Family, on the subject of children with disabilities. There are more than 700,000 disabled children and young people in the UK. The feeling of isolation and the sheer number of questions that need answering when a parent discovers their child has a disability or health condition can be difficult to come to terms with. Mark will be answering questions on a range of subjects including entitlements to support, social services, rare disorders, childcare, locating relevant medical information, education and support groups. If you would like to submit a question to Mark, email: community.parentscentre@dfes.gsi.gov.uk Follow the links below to the ParentsCentre and Contact a Family websites for further information. http://www.parentscentre.gov.uk/news/?asset=News&id=30781
